Twin 600
I have just purchased my Twin 600. I have taken it back to where I purchased it so many times and they are not able to help.
I take the van to a caravan park and the water flows and everything works perfectly. Hot water, sink, toliet. Around 2 pm like clockwork everything stops. No hot water, Toilet shower nothing to do with water is working.
Usually end up just going home in the morning totally frustrated.
Fingers crossed someone out there has a simple answer.
I live in Sydney Australia so frost is not the cause.😀

I think he's safe where he is, is pipe wouldn't be long enough to reach UK.
True. But I'd bet any money the rules are as strict in Australia than here, if not stricter. They are big on backflow prevention and you see great big non return valves above ground at industrial premises.

The point being that it's weird to be connected directly to a water supply.

This is a key aspect that hasn't been answered by the OP. It sounds like he has a plumbed in link to the campsite water supply system like big RV'S in America do. This is a very different system to most British motorhomes filling a onboard tank with water from a hose.

Here you all are trying to help someone as is the way with fun but is this a Christmas 'windup'.
Unless someone has secretly inserted a motorised and timed shut off valve in the cold tank feed it can't be happening.
I stand to be corrected but I doubt we will get any feed back from a free member.

Really? Seems a lot of effort and detail to be a wind-up! Interesting that he seems to have had 8 free posts though? Perhaps Jim 's code doesn't work for upside down people?

Michael O. You might like to subscribe to get further help. £20 GBP gets you access to a lot more than you can see currently. If you click on your name and avatar at the tope of teh screen it opens a menu, and subscriptionsis one of the options.

I'm free!, he doesn't appear to be getting much feed back from his water connection.

A friend hired a motorhome in Australia. The van he had was pretty European in style, a 7m Merc with an overcab. Cassette loo, fresh and grey water tanks. It wasn't American style with a black tank and shore connections for everything.

I've come across the 'it can't possibly do that' scenario so often, and there's always a way it can 'do that'. Could be for example a faulty double-check valve in the campsite services post, together with a drop in pressure as a big consumer demand kicks in. Or a faulty pressure reducer in the motorhome plumbing, if it's fed directly from the mains input.

I'm sorry but I'm afraid I have thought the same from the start but didn't want to say, but if he's got water in and the pump is working how can time have anything to do with it?

That's what I wa thinking. Its the only logical explanation.

Just for the record, connecting directly to the water supply in the UK would be an offence as it would not comply with the bylaws. A motorhome does not have approved fittings and a approved check valve would have to be installed .

That just means a one-way valve.
A lot of modern hoses have them fitted already.

It's not weird, it's normal. Plenty of motorhomes have a "City Water" connection for just that scenario. The pump becomes redundant and your van is supplied at the regular water pressure.

Plenty of those who use a city water connection have a reducer connected so you only get sensible pressure in the van. (y)

The OP has not given anywhere near enough info.
Does he go to the same campsite every time ?
What has he tried apart from giving up and going home?
What does he do while at home as the water is OK next trip until 2pm on presumably the first full day after arriving ?
What size tank has he got, presumably it can be used not connected to camp supply; has he tried that ?I
How much water is I'm the tank when he gets home.
I'm assuming he has a fresh water tank, so he should try it without connecting to camp supply.
Same time every trip should have an explanation, coincidence is only a slim possibility on a couple of occasions but the more often it happens the less it could be coincidence.

My thoughts, has the tank got a blocked breather and the resulting vacuum when the water level drops stops the pump from "pulling" ? If he's a creature of habit then he may use just the right amount of water for it to happen at the same time each trip, but happening at 2pm every time is bugging me.

But an Adria panel van conversion?

To be fair I did ask the question but he never replied anyway. 😭

Anyway I learn something. Maybe he is connected with a pressure reducing valve as you say.
