Just ( 3 weeks ago) taken delivery of new Adria compact. It has a submersible pump in the water tank and a whale pressure switch just outside the tank.
Two issues:
The pump only works intermittently one minute it work , the next it doesn’t. Can’t see any rhyme or reason.
The pump output is weak when working, not enough to properly flush the toilet let alone shower.
The dealer thought he had rectified the first problem last week but it is still happening. The power to the pump vvia pressure seitch appears to go through dc to dc converter
12-15 v to 10.5v.
Anybody had similar problem with submersible pump? ( I’venever had such a pump before)
Thanks for any suggestions.

I have read that it is a bit of an art form to get the pressure switch set up right. Do a search on here for some tips.
Never heard of a voltage dropper. Lift the pump out and see if it has voltage rating.
I found that reversing the wires attached to the pump dramatically improved the flow.

are you referring to the submersible pump as regards reversing the wires?

yeh, wherever the 2 wires from the pump are connected - try switching them around.
it worked for me when i had to change the pump.
connected colour to colour and the pump worked but not much pressure. later switched the wires (suggested on here) and 'hay presto' good pressure.

Can't see why the pump voltage needs dropping to 10.5v.
Converters are tightfisted.....why fit a pump AND dropper transformer when a 12v pump would be cheaper.

As Berni says, setting the pressure switch can be a pain, when I had one of these setups, the pressure switch needed to be adjusted every time I connected my EHU then again when using the batteries.
I solved that problem by installing a Whale surge damper, but it sounds like your pump is faulty or wired incorrectly. Try swapping the wires over as above.
A proper Whale high flow pump ( which is what you should have fitted with a Whale pressure switch) is 12v DC.

First check as suggested is pump voltage rating - it will be 12v. You then need to find out why there's a dropper. A 12v pump fed with 10.5v will never be satisfactory so if you're not mistaken there's a wiring error. The suggestion about pump reversal is also valid - most pumps I've seen have blue / brown wire and often brown is mistaken for +ve. In fact in a DC circuit it's invariably -ve. So blue is positive.

Thank for all your responses. Took it back to the dealer with a snagging list. They fixed the pump. No voltage dropper so better pressure and a surge damper put in line. All other matters (bar one piece of documentation)dealt with too.

Hi, I know this is an old post but I think I am having the same Adria water pump problems as you did back in 2018.
Could you send me some pictures so I can see how they removed the voltage dropper and fitted a new surge damper(make please) ie wiring.
I have already bought a new water pump & in-line pressure switch and still no water but pump works when connected directly to 12v. Thank you Shirley

The White cable is the pump

Yes I switch the pump on via the control panel. I don’t get any water out just a noise from the pump. I tried the pump directly via a temporary 12v cigarette lighter connection and it worked. The original author seems to have had the same problem as myself hence why I am keen to know his end solution as I don’t know what the 12v voltage dropper is for either. Never had a water pump problem in 15 years

Another photo from a bit further away showing all the bits and the top of the tank where the pump wire goes in would help.

Do you have a multimeter? Can you work out which cable is + and -. I would open a tap, connect the black and white cable together and make sure the pump is working.

The cables on the pump are +brown and -blue.
Pump worked when I temporarily connected it via a cigarette lighter. Just a bit scared of connecting it directly

Connect +12v from black cable to top connection (nearest the wheel) on pressure switch.
Bottom connector to pump. Other wire from pump to -12v in black wire.
Open tap
Pump running but no water - reverse pump connectors.
Pump not running twiddle wheel on pressure switch.

A friendly motorhomer helped me today and he had never seen a voltage dropper either so we took it out and set up the wires as per picture but the pump will only turn off via the control panel adjusting the new pressure switch made no difference. The old Reich pump was fitted back too and for the first time water flows around the loo instead of half way!

Noted a temporary error of E2 appeared on the control panel and W255 on the truma CP plus panel - both now cleared?

I changed the wiring around and adjusted the pressure switch

Finally I have a nice flow of water and the old pump turns off when the taps close

So I have a spare new pump, pressure switch (minus micro switch as broke connections whilst taking apart) and a new truma CP panel as i also got the old one working.

Next time just check wiring for corrosion before buying new things😡😡

Good to see you got a solution.
The destructions I read definitely said to connect the pressure switch the other way around but it's a simple switch and obviously doesn't matter.
