The Whale diaphragm water pump on our Bailey 68-2 started behaving oddly last night. It was running on longer than usual after the tap was turned off and making a bit of a buzzing noise after it finally cut out.
Spouse was having a shower later and there was a loud bang.
Suspecting the pump I turned the circuit off immediately. The fuse was surprisingly OK and when I tried the pump again it was still working, although it seemed to be on reduced power as the flow was lower.
Currently on holiday on the Isle of Wight, so hoping it hangs on until we get home.
Anyone come across anything like this before? As it’s a diaphragm pump I wonder it the mechanical linkage that moves the diaphragm to and fro has somehow got damaged? Don’t really fancy lying on my back in a wet field to access it at the moment.
