Water pump continues to run after tap closed

Why do they make these things so bloody complicated.

A simple pump that works when the pressure drops, what’s not to like.

Sorry no help though ?
We've got 'water' issues ... we have a pressurised system now which likes spurting and splattering everything, gurgling and glugging ... I've sort of 'temporarily fixed' it ... originally I thought it might be a cracked filter housing letting air in but despite being wrapped in gaffer tape it had no effect, so I then used some electrical tape to go round the inlet from the tank to the filter housing and the outlet to the pump and since then its just about behaved itself so one of them must need tightening up but I can't really get at them easily so whilst it's working more as it should I'm not gonna do anymore until I get home. Never had this issue with a micro-switch system but the shower pressure is much better with our current system so I'm not complaining!

Well, since I last posted, it hasn’t happened again. I don’t like problems that just go away with no explanation, but I’m pleased it (apparently) has.

The water pump on our six month old Globecar Summit 640 has started to occasionally continue to run after a tap has been closed, either the kitchen tap or bathroom tap. This has started happening approximately once a day.

The pump is operated by microswitches rather than by pressure, and is submersed in the water tank. As it happens with both taps, I’m pretty sure it’s not a microswitch problem (but I accept that it might be). I’m not sure what make of pump it is.

Turning the tap on and off for a couple of minutes eventually causes the pump to stop. As an experiment, today I tried doing nothing to see if it would stop on its own, but it didn’t after several minutes.

Turning the water pump off at the control panel doesn’t stop the pump when this issue occurs, but it does normally stop the pump operating when the taps are opened at other times.

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?
Maybe you have expansion vessel behind the pump and pushing the water to pump.
And pump pushing the water. to the to the storage tank in the loft or some where. Install non-return. valve in your pipe.

Welcome to you and your first postings. It is worth looking at the date of the postings on a thread, sometimes like this one the problem was not a recent one.

This problem was in a motorhome, not a house
