Water filling hose is this a good buy?

Only problem with a flat hose, you have to uncoil the whole 20 MTRS even of the tap is 3 MTRS away.
You can't use it partly coiled
Then of course, you get flat bends which pinch the hose and it restricts of even stops the flow.
I reckon 90% of folks use a regular garden hose and simply coil it up for storage.

Thanks, our garden hose on a reel also gets loads of kinks which prevents the flow.

I’ve used the flat blue type for last 11 years and find it’s excellent. Bin the silly white reel and I gather mine up and keep it in a water proof bag 👍🏻

Cost is not always a guarantee of decent quality though
I never mentioned cost I said buy a good quality one.

Yes I’m trying to find one, they all say they’re good quality when you’re looking, that’s what the threads about, recommending a good quality one

A bit like motorhomes they all say there’s is a good one, until you get it.

Get the Brunner flat hose.
It comes on a reel, so you do not have to unwind all 20m to use it
It has Hozelock connectors at both ends.

We have had two of them over the years, expensive, but the best hose I've seen on the market,
only issue is it can be a little on the slow side to fill a 100 litre tank.

I have a Croydex hose, it has a green reinforced outer with an orange centre core. It's very good but I bought it 17 years ago don't know if the quality is still as good.

A flat hose HAS to expand to accommodate the water.
How can it expand when it's tightly rolled flat.
I've only had one and when I didn't unroll it all it pushed one side of the plastic real off as it tried to expand.

The Brunner hose does not need to be unwound off the reel to work.

It's actually three mini hoses side by side.
So it is flat, its very compact, (smallest I have seen), it is not a tube that folds flat

We’ve got one and use it to fill at home from outside tap. It’s surprisingly good albeit a bit slow. It’s a clever thing I agree. Tend to use a container with a spout when away. Works well.

This is it - also some other manufacturers have the same type listed and very good they are too.

Decent quality fold-flat 20m hose, the reel quickly got binned as it’s quite large against the tight on-board storage we have - with no garage we have no location big enough to stow it when on the road, and it just stood behind the seat - so from a tip I got here on Funsters, I cut the hose in to three sections 4m, 6m and 10m with Hozelock connectors to go the full 20 metres where needed, each length is concertina-folded flat with elastic ties - and they fit nicely anywhere under the seats there’s space… and a lot less faff than having to reel the whole 20m back onto the reel after.

I think the ideal is about 4m of ordinary garden hose to use almost all the time and a collapsible hose for when the other one won't reach.

I agree. In my case 10 metres plus on a reel which I rarely use and requires me to squeeze all the water out to get it back in the cassette and circa 4 metres on a wind around spool.

Whatever hose you have you need all manner of adapters or, sods law, you will have no means of linking to the campsite/aire tap!!!

We use a standard 5m hose most the time with no issued. Lightweight and easy to roll up
