Watch Motorhomes Get Crash-Tested With Worrying Results

I would guess they are Brown, so as to blend in with your knickers, after a front end shunt.
Sorry couldn't resist that.:giggle:
LES
Best thing to do is let go of the steering wheel as you career of the tarmac, the wheel can kick and break a thumb or fingers. I recall one spin I did overtaking a car going backwards, as the car hit the grass the car spun and then stopped. Not too much damage I could press the crash reset button and the engine fired and I managed to drive off. ( no airbag involved)

What a depressing thread!
I agree though that the average MH might conform to regulations, but that doesn't make it safer.

I'd be curious as to the stats though - what percentage of MH's are lost to traffic accidents? Reason I wonder is because these vehicles tend to last longer than their van equivalents (Talbot Express anyone??) and they travel slower than other vehicles. It is interesting to note that in the terrible crash pictures on page-1, not all the vans had had a frontal impact, and also that a horse through your windscreen isn't something that the Euro NCAP tests for...

There is a thread about the issue of van safety here:

To be completely safe, then never travel anywhere by any means of transport - not even walking - look at Alexander Zeverev at the Paris Open yesterday! Could airbags in his shoes have saved him?! I'm being glib, but I do think that we have to work with risk sometimes rather than completely avoid it!!

Not so much depressing but just a reminder we are not invincible, sometimes you see in Racing what appears to be a survivable accident such as Allan Simonsen 2013 Lemans the driver is killed and yet when you see another such as the 1999 Lemans Peter Dumbeck and the Mercedes that took off and landed amongst trees who survived. ( where the car landed had only been cleared of trees a short while before....and the Police gave him a breath test as its a road race !)

So I think your right avoid accidents if you can (y)

I agree, I think every new driver should be shown a real crash test vehicle plus videos of how they collapse on an offset frontal at only 30 MPH, just to give them an idea of the fragile metal cage they are really in......dangerous though appears to be riding an E scooter in an Italian city, I mean encoraging people who probably cant drive onto Italian roads with a powered vehicle, I have spotted a lot of young people with hands & arms in plaster.....coincidence

I’m staying in bed for the rest of my life and hope the roof doesn’t cave in on me 👍

Must remind myself of this thread when newbies come on here when they’ve bought a six birth motorhome with four seatbelts and think the kids will be alright sat at the table….🫣
