Walking on the roof

I am always astonished at this photo “borrowed” from Chris Hewitt, showing some of the workforce, all on the roof

Was up on mine today nice warm day 👍make sure the ladder can’t move, last time i though it was secure but pulled on hose ladder slipped a fell Denise was out shopping so had to carry on cleaning until someone came out to put ladder back.

We have an Autotrail Apache 634. I won't to clean it but especially the roof. How safe is bit to climb on the roof? I am 80kg bloke. Any thoughts please

Purchased a step platform years ago ( (Warehouse type platform ladder in aluminium)
When on the top platform I am looking down at the roof use an extendable handle washing brush
ese a towel washing glove to go under the solar panels
the platform is large enough to hold a small Karcher pressure washer which I use on fan setting spray to rinse the roof spotlessly clean
the platform purchase was not cheap but will always be useful for around the house maintenance too
and ABSOLUTELY NO DANGER of creating structural problems with an expensive motorhome roof
Just go and buy one, just make sure it is tall enough (there are several heights available)
you ideally need to be waist height above the roof rim
Good luck

I use a " Henchman " access ladder, VERY stable ,demountable/adjustable/lightweight alloy/folds up/no special tools required. Have a look at their range on line 0333-344-4229.
