Visit to coast.. Hampshire probably..this Monday

Really?

This is a motorhome forum so its not unreasonable for members to ask questions about using their motorhomes without being subjected to rubbish like this.

The current thinking seems to be that you are less likely to get it in an open space anyway.
Think he might have something there . Did you see the photo of the lemmings at Durdle Door

There are plenty of other beaches you can go to. Most of the members on here would avoid a beach that crowded anyway and the beauty of a motorhome is that you can go to beaches with no facilities.

In part what you are saying is true, but as with everything more people not working means more people wishing to visit a beach, go for a walk, visit a beauty spot. The image is of the rescue at Durdle Door Beach Dorset, the locals wanted the Beach to be closed the following day or at the very least restricted and it is understandable after incidents like this.

Even before the incident the beach was packed and not a huge space between many people

I am not saying people should not go to the beach, just outlining that currently everyone wants to do so, it also depends on your perception of risk for me there are just too many people on that beach at this time but others may view this is an acceptable way to behave.

I agree to a certain extent but think the travel restrictions are exacerbating the problem.

In normal times the population would be spread over the whole UK and beyond, but being prevented from travelling to anywhere but England is going to mean that England is busier than normal. Furthermore because people are not allowed to stay overnight is limiting the effective usage times on the beaches.

Even so there will have been beaches on the south coast that weren't packed, but that isnt newsworthy.

Agreed plus no foreign holidays, we can possibly look forward to a new virus spike in July but let’s see, stay safe stay well is what I wish for all.

I can’t believe I’ve just read this.
What rubbish.
We have been down to Felixstowe beach 3 times now. Hardly a soul about. Didn’t see any grim reapers either.
Phil
They are there ! Don’t fear the reaper BOC

Well good for you (y), not quite the same on the south coast is it ? and where was the OP intending to go ?

If these “ lemmings “ are not afraid of being inches apart in these crowds then they should go back to work.
Exactly

If they can go out then they can get back to work. There shouldn't have been any lifting of 'lockdown' before all were back at work. Just asking for trouble &alienating those who have to work & many who are trying to keep people safe .

This was Durdle Door yesterday. At least the helecopters are social distancing. :)

Can I just observe, that taking into account the necessary "safety" zone needed around Heliocopters. It does not actually Leave a huge amount of Beach left for the assembled Crowds?, in fact it would appear, to me at least, that the people have been herded into close proximity?. If you took the 2 "choppers" away? the room for people would likely be adequate?.

Parked up on the beach at Hayling Island, plenty of space and no queuing to get here. Might have to move later to keep some shade

Watch out...went to B&Q today to get some wood to make a scooter base for my MH garage...easier than roof rack on car as went straight into the Motorhome .....big 4x4 pulled up alongside and and some moralising twat shouted abuse at me for being out in a Motorhome. Presumably he thought I was holidaying in a B&Q car park.
Have you got your registration sorted now?

I have indeed 😊😊😊 all postal applications stopped on I think it was 24th March. I posted mine on 27th. I had to do a lot of skulduggery (Can’t say what I did on public forum 😥) and research and eventually got a secret address which process them straight away ! Had a photocopy of applicatiion luckily...sent that to the secret address...someone called me the next day with a withheld number and said they would sort through the 200 boxes (50 applications in each !) and find my postal order and original application and process it that day.

They called back 1 hour later said it was done....gave me the RegistrationNumber over the phone. Ordered the number plates on line and got them next day. Sorted! Registration Certificate came in post next day. Couldn’t believe it. Just need borders to open now...

Looking at the beach scenes from the south coast area I would not go to such crowded places without Coronavirus never mind now. Why would anyone want to go to a beach that crowded?

Exactly , horrendous !!!!!

Ended up going to Bracklesham Bay today, weather was poor but the beach hut was serving food and drinks and of course only a few hardy souls on the very pebbly beach... great to get some ozone up my nostrils :giggle:

Wasn't like that when I went in November last year.

Train to Paddington, walk down to Victoria Station and then train to one of these 4 destinations, Gt Yarmouth,
Grey cells possibly confused. 🤔Never a regular service from Gt Yarmouth from Victoria. It would have been Liverpool St or Kings Cross. Might have been a special, but it would have been torturous getting round London before Snow Hill tunnel reopened in 1990. (Or before WW1. 😲)

I was only little and I just remember that walk, however I do see that I wrote it the wrong way round. should be coach to Victoria then walk to train station with our case. We only had one for the four of us. When not going to the South West we probably got off the coach at Shepherds Bush and got on the underground there to other train stations.
