Vin plate weights

I'm limited to 3500kg on Spanish plates. Apparently they've upgraded to 42500, but I can't find anything about the weight increase. These are my weight plates, would I need to upgrade suspension to handle the 42500kg. Thanks

You’ve shown three (different) sets of figures - where are those displayed?

Even taking the highest set, it looks like the vehicle was (at some stage) approved for a maximum of 3650 kg. You’d almost certainly need to make changes to the vehicle (and get involved in complex certification?) to go above that.

I think you've put one too many zeros in your desired weight (you can’t really mean 42.5 tonnes!), but even 4250 kg is a long way above the 3650 and would, I reckon, require a much heavier chassis than the one on which your motorhome was built.

The first pic looks like the plate for an Al-Ko AMC light chassis.
The second pic looks like the converters plate which would be the last one fitted which is the one you must go by.
THe third one is the Fiat chassis plate.

Looking at those plates you should be able to uprate to 4000kg but to increase the rear axle weight you can go to 2240kg if you fit semi air suspension on the rear. Will also need a tyre change if on 15" wheels.

To find out about the 4250kgs you need to speak to an gestoria specialising in vehicles.

3960kgs as a paper exercise should be ok-

That in itself here in spain means a 'homologated' kit is required ,last time I looked about 600€ then add on 190€ for the 'homologation certificate' then it all has to be fitted by someone who can provide the ¡certificate of installation' & with both of these pieces of paper you can then get it added to the ficha tecnica.
All you have then though is legal rear air suspension.
No weight upgrade.
The OP needs to speak to a vehicle engineer ( ask for info on one at local ITV station) who can provide a Proyecto (project) encompassing all that is necessary to upgrade to what weight he can legally go to. The engineer can then liase with the 'laboratory' he uses to get it all signed off. It isn't going to be cheap.

My old Coach-built On maxi chassis was paper exercise in UK to max out at 3960Kg without a suspension changes and wheels and tyres were already good.

The real issue is that you will never be able to get to that new weight without going overweight on the rear axle. The rear becomes your limiting factor.

You're going to need more than a C1licence for that proposed up plate

You will find the increase in gross weight to 4250kg is a driving licence upgrade to allow driving the heavier electric vehicles without taking an HGV yest.
It doesn't mean your van will be upplated to 4250kg.

If Alko Light chassis, the most you can go to is 4000kg, well that was the agreed guidance by both SV tech and VWE when i had mine uprated from 3650 to 4000, and needed rear air suspension to allow the upgrade, for Alko chassis thats about £2000+

If your manual, may also need to uprate the front shocks too, when they fit an auto box they already do so.

Also if you have the fiat light alloys, they will need changing for the heavier ones, maybe your ok but check - the engineers will too.
