I opened it ready to offer my sympathies but then had a good laugh. I think we are all getting our share of things to be upset about at the moment but are grown up enough to know when to smile. Jeepers creepers, it’s hardly black humour, to those who are offended thank goodness you were never in the military, medical profession or similar!

When my friend came round on ITU I messaged him to hurry up as our mower needed repairing, he’d been on a ventilator for nearly 3 months. We’re both doctors, he’s haAndy with DIY as well. We laughed and cried.

phew !!!! what a mixed bag of responses !!!

i thought it was a 'light post' that people would find amusing - i really did not expect to get shot at because some people thought i was being thoughtless about other things - Captain Tom (fantastic what he did) ignoring the Pandemic - unbelieveable how could you ever disregard it. Just for reference i am recovering from Covid pneumonia and was in hospital at the end of Oct last year so i know how hard the NHS staff are working and really do not need that sort of response.

Finally 2 things, thanks to all those who saw it for what it was and responded in kind, particularly liked Aeriallmark's attempted conversion.

Blimey! Of course things like that are going on, but they go on all the time to some extent. But we type about funny, sad, peculiar, horrible and mundane all the time. That is like saying the Government can only deal with the pandemic and nothing else while the pandemic is going on... Oh wait, they are not even dealing with the pandemic!

Maybe that is not what you meant, but either way, stay safe and stay away from the bugs.
