Autosleeper Warwick
I'm sure there must be many posts on this and I'm happy to be directed to them.

Just bought a 2008 AutoSleeper Warwick Duo. Take delivery on Monday.

I suspect it only has the standard Peugeot Boxer immobiliser/alarm system.

I'm thinking of fitting one of these mobile network type alarm/camera systems. I'm imagining an internal camera that if somebody breaks in I get an alert on my mobile, maybe a siren, and I can see inside the van and even talk to the intruder.

I would also like to have a steering wheel lock or a wheel lock.

Can anyone tell me what works best for them?

The imou cameras work great, pan/tilt/zoom, microphone, speaker, night vision, record to micro sd or cloud, usb powered and they'll connect to the house wifi. There's a free app for the phone too.
Best of all, they're only about 25 quid each🤩

Personally I wouldn't (and havn't) bothered with steering and other locks. Youtube theives defeating them for how long (seconds) they last against a angle grinder. They are a deterrant, and not much of one, just look at motorcycle gangs in London with mobile angle grinders. If anything they may cause damage to the vehicle. A lot of people think they are "useful", but I really personally can't see how -> they add seconds yes, but if you can respond in seconds thats great, but with our van being 12 miles away from house in storage, it's useless to us.

Vanbitz -> immobiliser if not alarm. Stop them even driving the van away with a secondary very hard to defeat immobiliser that you control from your phone and can also track the motorhome on. The alarm basically stops them having any chance staying in the van to defeat the immobiliser as it is VERY loud and uncomfortable.

Even if they defeat the actual alarm there are forum posts showing the immobiliser was not able to be defeated by a gang targeting mohos in London -> and resultant damage if you search the forum. I mean nothing is perfect, but I sleep a lot more comfortably with my van in storage when I know I'll get a text/app message if the alarm triggers, and the immobiliser is ALWAYS set when it's parked up.

If not vanbitz another immobiliser as many on here have is probably my second choice (ghost or similar). Same reasons, it's just better to stop the thing being driven away rather than anythig else.

Thank you, so which one do you have installed? Can you install yourself?

Should add I have the growler (ie, very noisy) alarm from vanbitz, with the tracker and immobiser -> the tracker was an insurance requirement on a van value > 50k and the immobiliser was not, but it wasn't a lot to add once you had an alarm + tracker. Worth noting you do get a decent insurance discount for having such fitted too so it "may" pay back over time. There is also a MH fun discount for vanbitz in the relevant place in the forum, which saved a fair amount on the RRP. In my case we had to have a thatcham alarm + tracker due to the vechicle value and the underwriters requiring it.

A visit to VanBitz is your solution:

Get an alarm
get a tracker
get an immobiliser

and whilst you are there
get a solar panel
Get a battery master.

Then you can sleep easily in your bed.

If you want CCTV, I'd just fit one to the front of your house.
Little point inside the van with the above kit

Hi OS, Good luck with the New MH.
Not able to help with the camera etc but as for the wheel lock I use a small length of chain that chains the driver's seat to the seating behind the driver's side> With a strong padlock and the seat turned round the thief will have to be serious about nicking your MH.
My MH is a Nuevo but there's always a strong fitting somewhere behind the drivers seat

Another line of thought.
The tracker I have was given free with the first years Insurance, this was with Grove and Dean, they also beat the other quotes by a long shot.
If I do not use their insurance next year the tracker is returned, if I want to keep it and the company registration, I have to pay £40

Another Vote for Vanbitz. I have the Growler fitted and immobiliser. The extra LEDs fitted give a good deterrent as well .
Agreed. I had the Growler and immobiliser (MetaTrak) fitted by Van Bitz earlier this year. Had their alarm and immobiliser on my previous van too. Wouldn't want to do without it.

Or fit something similar to what Verisure use for homes that can be detonated inside the house by the control centre or yourself remotely & either smokes them out or modify to remove all oxygen in the event that the van is stolen.

All they have to do is open a window.

We use this… I locks both cab seats together when they are rotated

I also do this, it’s impossible to get into the vehicle when facing the seat back. I don’t understand why more people don’t do this.

Also the dog restraint straps through the door handle holes and clipped into the seat belt catches…as recommended by Stealaway 👍

The Milenco BC lock is a box that locks round the brake and clutch pedals, takes seconds to fit and remove if you have the key, an awful lot longer if you don't. It stopped mine from being driven away after they tried to remove it for over 5 minutes and a Blink camera system, not the cheapest but works brilliantly and controlled through the phone app and over the Internet with a mifi, that told me that there was movement inside the motorhome.

VanBitz is a no brainer if you can afford a comprehensive system. I also use an Imou camera mainly because it gives me peace of mind. I can look inside the MH any time I want. It will also give me a picture of any idiot that does invade my space - smash and grab type attack. At home, my MH is parked on my drive, so I have a sensor from my home alarm system inside the vehicle. If someone overcame the Van Bitz immobilizer (unlikely, but I am a belt and braces man) and if they drove the vehicle as far as the end of the drive (5 metres) then the house alarm goes off!
