Hi

Have just turned my Growler on and Beeped loudly once, then settled down, seem to think its a fault somewhere but cant find my manual, have looked online but cant find it.

Had LNB fit electronic braking system last week and I think they triggered the alarm when they disconected the battery, even though the alarm was off, anyone got any ideas how to reset as I don't want it going off tonight now im home>
Thanks

It’s got to be one of the lockers doors. Have you accidentally knocked one of the blocks that make the connection ?

if its what i think it is i.e. a locker or magnetic block out of position it should not be a problem setting of the alarm.

the loud sound you hear when you arm is to warn you you have left something open / insecure. if you do nothing it will ignore that circuit.

I`m guessing, but we had a "stikeback" on the last R-V. It could be telling you that one of the sensors is not working. Some systems do that, they ignore the non working sensor and set the alarm ensuring that at least some protection is on.?. The codes should be in your (missing) manual.

Thanks all the doors are shut will have a proper look tomorrow at the sensors, just hope it does'nt go off tonight, but like you say it will ignore that circuit.

I have a manual in my sticky mit.

During the 25 sec set up period you can activate the doors, lockers etc and a flash of the indicators will show if that particular system is working properly. The 25 secs is also reset. That could show you if one of the systems is faulty. It also says it ignores any faulty system so as to get some protection.
I’ll keep reading and let you know if I discover anything

It says that turning on the system with a fault detected will result in four beeps and two flashes. One beep seems to be a mystery except when disarming the alarm when an attack has occurred. It will beep once and flash once then.

Its unlikely it will sound tonight so a call to Vanbitz tomorrow.

So does this look like the bike loop switch in the picture below??
I have a strike back on this van and don't know what this is .
Just got the van end of last year.

Cheers Cris 🍻.

Switch it on then arm the alarm, if you get a warning that something is left open then that is it.

Just tried that,it's the bike loop👍.
Was dreading van going into mental alarm mode as I am on an aire and loads of people outside enjoying the sun😁
They might have hung ,drawn and quarterd me😅.
I don't have a bike rack ,so need investigate how the bike loop would work if I had one!!

Cheers Cris 🍻

Just remembered finding this before under passenger seat,is the the bike loop?

Cheers Cris 🍻.

You should have a caravan style socket somewhere under the rear of the van and a wire loop with a plug on the end to use when need arise.

Cheers for pulling this old post up, I got a few answers today about the loop on my van 👍.

It’s also handy for looping around chairs, BBQ, etc. if you leave them out overnight. Just set the perimeter alarm and loop without the internal sensor - just remember to disable before opening a door in the morning!

I have resolved the issue I had with help from AshVanBitz. It was a cable issue inside the socket ( the bit attached to the motorhome), new socket going on in the morning!! Ash identified what the likely problem was, I just had to find it lol! No doubt I could have driven to Vanbitz (he offered that option) but it's a five hour trip there lol, so I declined ...

On a related matter, has anyone changed their 'bike switch' to one with an led so you can see if it's on or off easily? The wires are basically a signal wire i.e. not 12v, so could that signal wire operate some sort of relay to turn a separate LED on?

You don’t need anything fancy , you can get the exact same switch with the LED in built, so a simple swap with an additional short wire at the switch.

Ye I have a just dug out couple of these switches with in built led ands that's what I will be doing in the morning

It’s not that easy unfortunately. I checked with Ash when my ‘accessory loop’ socket went t1ts up - water ingress and corrosion as it wasn’t sealed correctly - and it’s not possible to replace the switch with one that has an LED on it. I presume it’s because the loop and switch are a simple continuity circuit, so therefore no power through it for a lamp/LED.

BTW I’ve extended my ‘loop’ by replacing the end fittings with insulated ferrules and a WAGO connector, plus an additional 5m of similar wire and another WAGO so it can reach the trailer, quad, bikes, etc., when required.

The wires to the switch are a simple signal wire, they don't carry enough voltage to operate an LED, however my though process was what if the signal can operate some sort of relay which latches when the switch is turned in, which in turn completes a separate 12v circuit to illuminate an LED?

He knows much better than I do I stand corrected 👍
