My 700w vacuum cleaner stopped working. I have 1200w Victron inverter and it was working fine till yesterday. I can still use my 800w toaster so plug socket is live and working. Changed the 13amp fuse in vacuum cleaner plug - still not working. Ok I thought it’s only a cheap Amazon basic so maybe it’s just died - so I buy a new Bosch 800w hoover - plug it in - not working! Tested it on mains works fine!? Tried it again hooked up to EHU - still nothing! Any ideas why the vacuum cleaner won’t work when toaster of same wattage does??? Any help gratefully received!

Now what you really need is a
" hoddderaddddederrrr"
You know, one of those manual hand push, Ewbank type things that were popular in the 60's and early 70's that your Grandma had.
Still made today.

Oh well looks like this will remain a mystery - and looks like I might be carrying two unusable vacuum cleaners to Morroco- probably barter them for a hodderaddderder thingimyjig at the market 😂

Wait until you get to Morocco, someone there will know how to fix the problem. 😄

Is the inverter a standalone Victron inverter, or is it a Multiplus Inverter/charger?

If it's a Multiplus, does the vacuum cleaner work when connected to the inverter, when the EHU is not connected? I ask because if the site EHU mains voltage is low, the inverter is designed to replicate the same voltage.

If EHU is not connected, it will generate its own waveform, which will be the standard 230V 50 Hz. With the 200Ah lithium and the Victron 1200 inverter that should be enough to power the vacuum cleaner without any assistance from the EHU.

Yes it’s a Victron multiplus inverter - did try disconnecting the campsite EHU as everything was working perfectly well before I hooked up - sadly no joy 😔

May have solved the mystery- think the old vacuum cleaner just died of natural causes and reason new one wouldn’t work is cos I was trying to use it through a two pin shaver adapter plug 🫣 so blew the 1amp fuse - got proper adapter and all good- old vacuum cleaner in bin new one working fine - alls well that ends well as they say 😂👍
