Don't own one yet
I've read about both their toilets but there's nothing registering with me about which I should choose. Might one be noticeably more reliable/durable than the other or, perhaps, more quiet in operation? Something else that might sway me?

Our current van has a Dometic toilet. All previous vans/caravans have had Thetford. This one has a handle which you pull out to open the flap. The Thetford ones all had levers. This one does seem to stick and need regular cleaning and silicon spray. We do seem to have more problems emptying this one than previous ones - to be a bit more specific, lumps of poo seem to get stuck in the moulding in the bottom of the cassette, even after a journey of 150/200 miles. Didnt have this problem with the Thetfords. So either it is the design, and of course the newer Thetfords may be different to what we had, or our poo has changed!!
The "industry" seems to think the Dometic is better - dont know why.

Thetford Aqua Magic plus China toilet. It's a proper loo, connect it to a tank, power and the water supply job done (pun intended)
