Using mobile wifi in the home?

I've just checked my router, it is saying that since the 1st of August its streamed 2500 GB of data. Its not something i usually look at but this last month i've been at home and used it as normal. Had it two years or more without issue.

Wow ! how are you managing to use 100 Gb of data a day, thats some streaming.

Yes, realised there must be a mistake there. Just looked again and i'm thinking the date given is in the US format, so that amount since January the 8th.
Sorry for any misleading information.

We have 3 home broadband which uses a sim, it’s brilliant and we got a deal at £14.99 a month and we get an average of 80gb download and that’s only on 4g. It works in the MH the only thing is being as the kids stay at home these days they want the internet.

Update on my post #21 above:-
Bought a Huawei H112-370 5G router, put in a ‘3’ unlimited data SIM (£8/month) and tried it in the house - no 5G….!
Put it in the ‘van on the drive - still no 5G - rats!
Last night, connected to the router (still in the ‘van) as Plusnet was down again(!) and - 5G!
Download averages at 150Mbps which is way better than the 28Mbps from Plusnet even if latency is worse….
I believe that ‘3’ are tweaking the 5G signal in Ciren atm so I’ll keep an eye on how it progresses as I’m in a fringe area. Watch this space! (y)

The ‘3’ 5G seems to be settling down now for downloads, but still ‘slow’ for uploads……
Screen grab below of speedtest….

Since moving house in November we've been using a Huawei 4G Router as the landline solution doesn't really work for us. 4 adults in the house, son works from home and it seems to work well enough, that all 4 could have different streams running and it wouldn't buffer. I have an external antenna arriving today and it's about 800m to the mast which I *should* be able to see from the roof. This should improve the signal and hopefully cure the occasional drop-outs.

Which external antenna are you getting, chopper602 …..?
According to Amazon it's : 5G-XPOL-A0002-10m Poynting Directional antenna - although we don't have 5G in the area yet, the antenna should be good for when it arrives (although I'll probably have to change the router). I should add we use '3' network, as at the time it was the only one that could offer unlimited data for a reasonable cost.

Yes - that’s the one I’ve got for ‘out-and-about’ in the ‘van as well! (y)
