Anyone using or tried a tablet as a sat nav. Only asking as my iPhone is just to small and have 10'' Samsung tablet .
Otherwise suggestions for sat nav

Have look at Sygic currently
I found so many issues downloading maps into Sygic, that I got totally fed up with it, continually having to clear cache and restarting despite having had it for years it just gets worse. And there help desk is hopeless.

I use a Samsung 10" tablet with Copilot satnav software. The tablet has built-in GPS, and that's all that is required. The Europe maps are quite large, over 3GB, so I put in an SD card that can hold extra data like the maps. Probably not necessary if you don't use the tablet for much else. I have the whole of Europe, west and east, but could manage with a lot less if I had to.

In addition I have my phone showing Maps.Me, a free map app. It shows the map zoomed in, so that on wiggly roads I can see upcoming bends easily, that aren't visible on the main tablet map.

I use a 9" tablet mounted vertically, the problem I have is with my polarised prescription driving sunglasses, with them on the screen is black unless I tilt my head.
If I turn the screen through 90 degrees it's fine but I want to use it vertically.
So drive with my ordinary driving glasses with another pair of sunglasses on top.

I have a TomTom with live services and find the live traffic notifications very handy. I was drawn to the Copilot Satnav software because of the MH specific features that TomTom doesn't have, (vehicle dimensions input) also the idea of a larger tablet screen would be great for my failing eyesight! The van came with a WiFi antenna installed and I'm intending to get that up and running so maybe I will get live traffic too. TomTom are now selling a "Camper and Caravan" Satnav.

I use Map.me when out walking, brilliant app until latest update, now only allowed 10 maps before you have to pay
