Only cheap onesThe gennie was probably cheaper
Sharing a cup of sugar or a drop of milk with your neighbour was seen as neighbourliness when I was young. Is it called sugar in the tank?
A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down....I believe there are some petrol additives that help generators to run silently.
That's reminded me of a big bike event we did at Donnington Park a few years back.
Mine is exceptionally quiet.some Honda generators are very quiet and unobtrusive
As soon as I readThat's reminded me of a big bike event we did at Donnington Park a few years back.
We were just setting up for a show / demo / talk that we ran part of which involved a fire pit that we would then use to show people how to cook on an open fire.
There was a Landrover Defender camped close to us which had an alarm on it which had gone off first thing in the morning, and then it went off again, and again, and again..... I think it was a DIY one because it would go off for no reason and wouldn't switch itself off once activated.
It's a big site and so it took the owner a long time to realise it was his alarm, walk all the way back and turn it off.
After a few rounds of this I found myself walking over to the Landrover with my friend to see if we could disconnect it. He had a bag of tools and I was still holding a running chainsaw from chopping some wood for the fire....
No surprise that the owner came running and that the alarm wasn't heard again for the rest of the weekend![]()
I believe that's what the previous owner of my van was doing hence the additional sockets being fitted by the bed etc .Although I might find noisy generators irritating I wouldn’t interfere, what if it was running a cpap machine or other bit of medical machinery. I doubt it was. I don’t think Italians go to bed early!
Don't be deceived. Quieter than most but not 'quiet'. Honda measure it under ideal conditions at 7metres. (The norm for SPL is at 1m. ) The inverse square law applies so 60dbB becomes about 70dB at 1m so perceived by the ear at more than twice as loud. Realistically it depends more on background noise level as to how annoying it is as a background noise.some Honda generators are very quiet and unobtrusive
