This isn't like mine
Mine is on side of van above passenger door the radio at mo is a crapy cheep one so any upgrade is improvementIf you are trying to get a better radio reception by updating your radio, you may be disappointed, not sure where the aerial is in a 2012 Boxer but in a 2017 it's in the nearside mirror and with mirror guards fitted our Pioneer Avtec is useless (for radio, satnav brilliant). There are several threads on here covering aerials.
When you fit first upgrade did it fit perfect with bezel covering where old radio fitted?I originally swapped our bog standard Boxer radio for a Chinese Android head unit on our 2013 Boxer, but have recently upgraded again to a Tesla type 9.5" Chinese Android head unit.

Yes, the bezel on the head unit is curved as the original Boxer unit. When you fit first upgrade did it fit perfect with bezel covering where old radio fitted?
Bezel normally comes with the mounting kit and you can buy different bezels, you can get ones that curve onto the top of the dash just depends on how much you want to spend, once fitted they all look fine. When you fit first upgrade did it fit perfect with bezel covering where old radio fitted?
Looks good I assume sat nav etc? Do you still have details of model/purchase price etc ? ThanksYes, the bezel on the head unit is curved as the original Boxer unit.
On the new Tesla type I fitted, the unit fits on the front of the dash radio housing, but still follows the curvature.
First head unit I fitted

Hi Bobby daisy
Why did you swap from the first you fit to the second?
And how did the first perform?
Sorry about that two on tourI think that your question was aimed at me rather than Bobby daisy?
Two reasons really, firstly the new one is a faster processor, has more memory and is a newer version of Android.
Secondly, the larger screen and the screen not being inset on the unit gives me much more visibility of the navigation screen when driving which means I only need a quick glance at the screen now and spend more time concentrating on driving.
Sorry about that two on tour
How did the first perform as not sure i want a big screen?
How much was both units?
Does it come with the curved bezel? The first was fine as it was a good specification at the time I bought it but newer ones are now faster as technology advances and we want things to happen instantly with computers.
I posted links to both units that are currently available on post #20 of this thread.
If you are interested, I still have the first unit that I swapped out a few weeks back and have not got around to listing in the classified yet. You can have it for £60 plus the postage at cost if you want it. PM me if you are interested.
How do I pm you?Does it come with the curved bezel?
