Has anyone any experience of up plating a Tag axel 5000kg motorhome to 5500kgs and what changes if any are needed.

I’ve tried to contact SV Tech and Van Weight Engineering yesterday with no success as yet.

It’s something i’ve absolutely no experience of up to now.

cheers

Al

Al n Val I updated a Fiat tag axle (2020 model) from 5000kg. It was originally plated with the rear axles at 1600kg each.

Had SAP fit semi-air to the rear and then had SV Tech do the paperwork. Rear axles were increased to 1800kg each (with semi-air) and the gross to 5500 kgs. Train weight was also increased to 6500kgs.

It was all very easy and, for me, worth paying SV Tech to get the paperwork correct. It would be around February 2023 when I did it, and then sold the van six months later.

I would have gone full air if it's a keeper 🤪
I was gonna say that, but due to my ignorance on tag axle chassis I didn’t know if it was available!!
C’mon Al, you was waving 225k around at the NEC and now you’re skimping on semi air🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
Get full air on it, you know it makes sense👍👍

I don’t do skimp Ade

if i’m told that full air won’t be beneficial then why pay for it

if Mick wants to talk dirty and do a deal then fair enough 😉👍

You can get full air on a tag it involves removing the rear torsion bars so full air on the rear and fit air struts on the front 👍
