Underslung LPG to Alko chassis fitting in pictures

Yes you are welcome as I would have to dispose of it. Bear in mind it is 315mm diameter not like the 270 I have just fitted.

Yes I had noticed the size difference and I'm not 100% sure it will fit but if it won't I'll re-offer it on the forum before disposing of it.
Cheers Andy

Great job & a great thread. Not a job I'm ever likely to do myself, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the thread. (y)

Always good to watch a craftsman at work.

Welcome.
That is 3mmx30mm steel that was too thick for tank straps. The two holes for the fixing screws are 30mm centres.

Thanks again.

Look at the price of diesel & LPG

I think it's fair to assume that I transfered a good few litres from the old tank so getting 40 litres in today is as I'd expect but not the price :)
The fill point no longer flexes the side skirt either (y)
Job done.

EDIT apart from the correx

For the weight conscious the tank and frame as pictured with me due to the lack of scantily clad a dolly bird. You would have to consider 35kg all inclusive (gas plus 22kg)

Another great project, well executed and brilliantly illustrated. Thanks for sharing Andy (y)

Very neat installation.
Cheers, Dave(y)

Andy, I thought you were going to extend the Correx from the vertical, to to a few degrees off horizontal, shielding the front half of the tank, so that any water or spray would completely miss the tank.

Won't it still be somewhat exposed with the Correx terminating at the depth it does?

Just a thought and a suggestion, but certainly not a criticism as it is a smashing job overall.

The correx is a long way below the tank Jock, it's primary task is stone protection.

Picture of the filler is already in the thread.
The only picture to complement a new install is the old gas locker where the regulator has disappeared and the solid copper pipe comes through from the tanks regulator via an isolation tap.

Excellent series. Have you considered adding a BBQ point that can also be used as an extend a stay in the above pipework. that would allow use of a foreign bottle in the event of LPG not being available.

yes i seen it earlier as that is what u used to check for leaks

Great series of pic's covering a project I guess a few of us may be thinking of doing?having done on our Mh's.

Thanks Andy (y)

Great thread do you have any dimensions for the framework starting mine today

As long as your chassis is wide, the rest becomes evident as you do it.

would you like ice with your drink sir:whistle::whistle:
