My Hymer B614SL has spent most of its life in the sun in the South of France and beyond, so has zero chassis rust. We have now moved back to the UK midlands, should I consider getting it undersealed, WaxOiled or whatever. If so any suggestions and potential costs?

I did the complete underside of our 8.5m Iveco chassis with Lanoguard last year. The driveway stunk of a farmyard for days afterwards.

My mechanic pal was so impressed with the results, that he now uses it on customers vehicles.

Cheers,

Jock. :)
Hi I understand that Lanoguard needs re applying every year, is that true?

I certainly shan't be doing it annually, as it was a bu@@er of a job lying flat on a crawler board, but I'll certainly be keeping my eye on things, when i am under the chassis.

If I was to do it again, I'd hire a drive on ramp or a hoist..............or get someone with that type of kit to do it for me. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

My Hymer is 7 years old and we live 200 yds from the beach.
Both the Al-Ko chassis and Fiat front chassis are galvinized and they are both fine no rust at all.
There is surface rust on a small 1" square tie bar that goes between the chassis rails, it's only painted looks like Hymer added, also the rear axle has a few little bits of surface rust probably from stone chips.

So no worries even when living by the sea.
