UK sticker

I am thinking of putting a GB sticker on the back of my Polish-registered MH.

A GB sticker has no legal meaning anymore so I am doing nothing illegal or misrepresenting.

It merely indicates that my origins, birth and most of my residences were in geographical Great Britain.

Are the Letters Illegally spaced? (Does it pass an MOT ?)

I'd say no. Too much space between the Y and the P

We have had the same dilemma. I thought about buying a UK sticker but then thought, no it wouldn't be right. So just sticking with GBM on number plate.

At Plymouth port there were loads of Vehicles with just the old GB getting on thr ferry to santander.View attachment 614648
Stick with what you have, because as a British Crown Dependancy you are not actually part of the UK so don’t need to change. Neither do GBA GBG GBJ OR GBZ

Yes that's correct of course. The vehicle is registered in the IOM with IOM documentation. However I can just imagine some Spanish policeman not understanding this as nobody in Spain knows how it works and then finding me for not displaying a UK sticker.

Then you might encounter a more knowledgeable Spanish policeman who will fine you for falsely displaying a UK sticker :-)

If carrying A GBM, GBJ etc. sticker it is also obvious from the registration format, e.g JXXXXXX for Jersey or just XXXXXX for Guernsey that it is not a normal UK registration number.

So the GB was changed to UK to include Northern Island.
So why is it every Ulster registered van I see has a IRL sticker on it, one in front of me tonight.

Thinking about getting rid of my UK stickers and going back to GB on the numberplates.
Like a lot of things here in Northern Ireland it can come down to religion/politics.
Some of the population here identify as Irish and would not be happy with a UK/GB sticker.
Some of the population here identify as British and would be happy to display a UK/GB sticker but wouldn't display an IRL sticker.
Some of the population here identify as Northern Irish and use a NI sticker.
Some of the population are not sure and display a combination of the above!
Legally as all vehicles in NI are registered in Swansea, everyone should use a UK sticker.
I have however never heard of anyone being stopped for having the wrong sticker.

I've always been under the impression that the sticker indicates where the vehicle is registered, not the owner's nationality, religion or politics.

Correct - Everyone from NI should display a UK sticker.
Just pointing out the reason why some don't.
