Experienced people on here can you school me on tyres and pressures please.
MH is a Swift Suntor, 5.9m long on a 2.3 litre mwb Ducato.
V5 says 3,400kgs.
I'm unsure of the overall weight or axle weights as I've not been able to find a weighbridge.
Front tyres are Continental Matador Maxilla, 215/70 R15c.
Tyres state max 65psi and are at 55psi.
Rears are Rotalla Transporter 215/70 R15c again stating max 65psi and are at 65psi.
Not carrying much onboard and no fresh water or waste water.
The back of the van is pretty wobbly, side to side.
Any thoughts other than air assist to stop the rear swaying side to side so much?

I don't know if the tyres are a good tyre for a motorhome or not they're just the tyres that were on it when I bought it.
They are only a year old and have covered about 1500 miles and look like new.

When I bought the van, Swift Suntor 590RL, I was told they always ran 65psi all round and they'd just checked the pressures.
I've been using it assuming that those were the pressures.
However I checked them recently and the fronts were 72 and 70psi and the rears were 52 and 50psi.
I have dropped the fronts to 65psi and the rears upped to 70psi.
This has improved the handling.
The rear doesn't sway as much and the front is not so hard over potholes, speed bumps etc.
I was thinking maybe reduce the rears to 65psi and the fronts to 55-60psi ?

That’s more like it…👍🏼

I had 4250kg hymer A-class on 16” continentals and ran it with 55 front and 65 rear and that is what continental told me too in a e-mail…😎

I think I've met that chap down the pub.
The max pressure figure moulded into the sidewall is exactly that: It's the max designed pressure, not a target.
"The max pressure is for the American market…. I’d say your pressure’s are about right for a comfortable ride, as for the swaying check suspension and think about air ride bags…😎"
The above was from on here.
Besides it saying 65psi max on the tyres it also says 75psi max inflation on them.

I don't understand that discrepancy/anomaly/contradiction in the marked pressures. Are you sure that one of them isn't mph rather than psi?

Also the Continental tyre site, who are the makers of the front tyres recommend 80psi ?
Confusing or what.
Anyway the 60 front 65 rear pressures seemed fine on the drive to West Wales this afternoon.

Ignore their website and just email them, they will give you an exact pressure, really worked for me, but don’t forget to tell them the numbers and name of tyre eg Van contact or 4 seasons etc.
