I'm looking for a good tyre inflator bought 2 off Halfords with the screw on adapter to the tyre, and by the time i have screwed it up i have lost half the air.
I need one that pumps the tyres up to 100psi easily.(i need 70psi)
The ones i have bought say they will do that but struggle after 65psi
Also a long enough electric lead from the cigar lighter to the rear tyres.

I have the Ring 900 and connect it to the + charging point and the body work of my Ducato engine compartment. Providing the negative is a good connection works fine.

I use one of these after hearing recommendations on a variety of forums. It copes easily with motorhome tyres and can be powered through the cigarette lighter or using crocodile clips. Compact and robust. They do fit by screwing to the valve stem but do so easily without loss of air unlike some. Strongly recommended.

Amazon product ASIN B07BL1D5YZ

For my tyre pump I fitted cables to the leisure battery with a fuse and fitted Anderson connectors, so I can power the pump from that.

Check out the ryobi one + inflator.
superb piece of kit...has benefit of low pressure/high volume for air beds etc.
needs a 5ah battery for our BIG tyres.....

We liked our one too (Mr Wombles has quite a few Ryobi One+ tools) but after working ok for a short time it then failed to top up the motor home tyres hence our low tech. alternative now on post #43. Will try the bigger battery option (only recently got one of those) now though to see if it can still work so thank you for that tip (y)

Hi All
Thanks for all your help on this subject. After much debate and web searching, I decided to purchase T Max Heavy Duty Air compressor as used by all the 4 x 4 guys when off roading. Its brilliant, heavy and quite expensive, delivers 150 litres per minute, I think this will do for me!(y). Found it on the web from Bearmach.com (Caerphilly) for £89.99 including delivery. Best price that I found on the web.
Best Wishes to all.:giggle:

Isn’t most of the perceived air loss from removing the Ring 900 type screw on fitting just from the hose release?
When I first used screw in adapters & worried about that, I’ve double checked the tyre pressure after using the inflator everything’s been OK.

edit: typo

I have one of these plus I carry in the MoHo a 12v portable double cylinder compressor that I retro fitted a 5m fused power cable with insulated crocodile clips so it reaches all four wheels from the leisure battery in the garage.

I see Amazon have them at £67.00 (quite a few on the web cheaper than £90.00)

Looking for a portable tyre inflator which would be hand held, powerful enough to inflate tyres quickly( up to 75psi!) and be able to inflate my e- bike tyres. Any suggestions?

75psi is quite modest.
At base I use a track pump
Some of those here: https://www.bikeradar.com/advice/buyers-guides/best-track-pumps/
But not mine  I think it's an old Topeak Joeblow.

On a ride I've a CO2 injector & hand pump as a backup/finisher.
Like: https://www.bikeradar.com/advice/buyers-guides/6-of-the-best-co2-inflators/

Sorry, mine isn't in that list either
It's not a conspiracy. My kit is ~4yo.
HO - The pump is out in the cold. but I can get my CO2 injector info

It's a Pro Bike Tool CO2 thingy: <Broken link removed>
Mine is the one supplied with the red jacket.
My actual one:

edit: Did I mention that peeps use a track pump to check adjust MH tyres? I don't as my plakky wheel trims don't leave enough room for the fat track pump head....

I haven’t used CO2 on my road bike (~100psi). I said 75psi was modest but maybe a CO2 canister would stuggle to fully inflate your tyre. I’m not sure.
But you can’t have a CO2 only solution anyway. Always pack a hand pump.

Any recommendations for a foot pump rather than electric please?

Just out of interest have you ever used a foot pump to get more than a pound or two into a reasonable size tyre.

I find them hard work and they don’t seem to shift much air for each stroke.

Would not return to a foot pump willingly

Hi
I am looking for a decent tyre inflator also. I too have bought 2 inflators, one that has a cigarette lighter plug and one which is combination 12v and 240v. I thought the 240v one was going to solve all my Motorhome inflation problems, but alas although it does work, it takes ages for the tyre to inflate just .5 of a bar!

My motorhome weighs 4.5 tonne, can anyone recommend a portable or a Workshop type compressor that will easily and quickly inflate my van tyres. I've read that the RAC one is ok, anyone have one and can comment?
Thanks
Yes it is great for motorhome tyres.best 80 pounds I have spent.

I’ve used a few over the years and one that I used was the Ring RAC900 but……

I now use the Makita DMP180RT1J goes up to 121psi.

Cracking bit of kit, easy and simple to use.

My vote also goes to the Makita in photo above. I already had the battery for it from my lawnmower. You just set the pressure you require with + and - buttons, then it autostops when it reaches that pressure. It also has an LED light which might be useful.

This is my set up at home. If its a pain to do you'll often not do it, so I make it as easy as possible. I use an old luggage trolley, that makes it easy to wheel around the heavy battery, an old wooden Port box hold guages, spare valves, spare caps and inflators.

The T Max has out-lived a couple of rings, but then we are pretty demanding of our compressors. Trailer tyres that need to be kept at 90psi, and Lanny tyres that always need adjusting when I'm towing, numerous cars and a couple of motorhomes see that it works hard. Even with the biggest, flattest tyres the T-Max doesn't need rests, its just keeps going till your full. It's a cracking bit of kit.

It was after my second Ring Compressor went pop about 6 or 7 years ago that John Sheriff here reccomended I buy the T-Max. I'm glad I did, it's not put a foot wrong. Can't reccomend it highly enough (y)
