I think they sautéed then in olive oil and garlic. But don't hold me to that thought

The Paulsgrove Estate has some nice pubs…if you’re looking for more than just a drink..Off to Portugal and Spain in May.
Has anyone got any suggestions for a drink and or meal close to Portsmouth Ferry terminal in case we arrive early for our evening sailing?
Don't fancy all the mad rush to get a meal on board, especially as it sails at 2130 (or due to)
That would work. A bit like eating snails. The mollusc itself is like a bit of rubber but with masses of garlic, parsley and melted butter they are fine.I think they sautéed then in olive oil and garlic. But don't hold me to that thought
I would like that if there was plenty of melted garlic butter to dip my French bread into! That would work. A bit like eating snails. The mollusc itself is like a bit of rubber but with masses of garlic, parsley and melted butter they are fine.
In France my friends eat them with a dip in good olive oil seasoned with salt & pepper.. yumI think they sautéed then in olive oil and garlic. But don't hold me to that thought
Why not just have a glass of garlic, parsley and melted butterThat would work. A bit like eating snails. The mollusc itself is like a bit of rubber but with masses of garlic, parsley and melted butter they are fine.
You need the bits of rubber to make it a proper meal. Why not just have a glass of garlic, parsley and melted butter

And the news on the Palm Sunday procession I mentioned yesterday is..... it doesn't seem to be happening. All the festivities are next weekend over Easter. So no Klu Klux Clan lookalikes.
Just in case anyone thinks this was a serious reply, I wouldnt park a motorhome there, ever. The Paulsgrove Estate has some nice pubs…if you’re looking for more than just a drink..

I've been outed....Anyway, enough chat about artichokes and snails. Far more interesting is that I reckon that DBK has gone to Spain to escape all the paparazzi attention following on from the feature article in yesterday's Daily Telegraph about DBK and his Pico Balloon adventures. Fantastic stuff!

Brilliant!
That's true in a sense. For a long time Rioja wine was always red here in the UK. They also do white and pink! It's a funny colour.
As an erstwhile 'Grover' having grown up on the estate, don't even think about it. Go to Port Solent. Plenty of restaurants and parking. Just mind the 'sleeping policemen'. The second one is particularly vicious. The Paulsgrove Estate has some nice pubs…if you’re looking for more than just a drink..
All my relatives come from there and I use to visit a lot when my Nan lived there. As an erstwhile 'Grover' having grown up on the estate, don't even think about it. Go to Port Solent. Plenty of restaurants and parking. Just mind the 'sleeping policemen'. The second one is particularly vicious.
I bet you’re ‘racked’ with disappointment! So no Klu Klux Clan lookalikes.

Try the Spanish & Portuguese Rose totally different to the naff French ones.I never really get Rose
I look forward to trying it. I once went on a skiing holiday in a catered chalet. First night there was red wine and white wine on offer (in large jugs). Two of the ladies in the group asked if they could get some Rose. The following night there was a jug of Rose on the table. They were delighted. The chalet owner was from Barnsley. After dinner I asked him how he got the Rose so quickly and he smiled. I said "you didn't did you?" His smile got even bigger.Try the Spanish & Portuguese Rose totally different to the naff French ones.
Rosé champagne is the only wine made by mixing red and white wines. Normal rosé wine is usually made by leaving the skins in at the start of fermentation then removing them later.I look forward to trying it. I once went on a skiing holiday in a catered chalet. How is the Champagne Rosé made ?

And did you know that without the Brits there would be no Champagne…because the Brits invented the very sturdy bottle which allowed the fermatation process to happen without exploding the bottle …not that the French would admit that of course Dom Perpignan has a lot to thank us for…and we him of course…Rosé champagne is the only wine made by mixing red and white wines. It was seeing the French all drinking rosé as an apéritif a few years ago that got us started on the habit.
