Rally Twin Lakes, France meet - May 1st - May 22nd 2015

We were bumped off the original Brittany Ferries Economie booking from Portsmouth to Le Havre owing to the ferry going into dry dock for repair, so had to book to go to Caen on the full fare ferry, we got the same large size Cabin and also got a voucher discount off the next booking. So we still hope to be at Twin Lakes on May 1st.
Is there a supermarket nearby for provisions?
Glad you got sorted. Yes, there is a big Intermache supermarket in Montendre. If you look at the link below it will show you exactly where all the shops, etc. are.

I see from the Twin Lakes web site that they stock Calor Gas.

Is that really UK Calor cylinders? I have both Calor (13kg & 6kg) and FloGas (2 x 11kg) cylinders available & I'm just wondering what to put in the van.

I tried that, but got no response.

I'll have another go. Maybe they've been away, having a rest before the onslaught! :D

We have been trying to phone Twin Lakes but goes straight to voice mail, so have today left a message on answer machine and also sent an email to confirm that we would like to attend this meet arriving 14th and departing 17th may and that if possible would like EHU. So keeping fingers crossed........
Cheers.

My Princess Frankie (yodeli) and I plan to be at this meet for the weekend May 14/15/16...

I was just wondering...

I have run out of Marmite and Oxo cubes and was wondering if I could get some kind Funster to bring a load of each to this meet.

Of course, I insist on paying full price for these items and would, therefore, request a receipt... none of this trying to give them to me "as a present".

Many thanks in advance.

JJ

You are very kind sir but another Funster has offered his help.

If the plan hits difficulties I will let you know.

We are planning to arrive for the start of the fun on the 1st May.
Can anyone suggest a good route from Sitges preferably not including too much mountaineering, will be allowing 3 to 4 days for the journey?

From Benidorm where we are I expect to get there with one overnight near pampalona . then choice is toll free through tunnel or toll towards Bordeaux.
Doing it in 3 or 4 nights will be a breeze

We're booked in from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd probably looking a bit road weary as it will be the last week of our three month trip around southern Europe. Ferry booked for the 25th so a slow-ish drive back to Dieppe over the weekend. We'll need a local vet to get the dog sorted from Wednesday onwards. Do you know of one in the vicinity?

One on the road into montendre, used it a couple of times, English speakers, very friendly.
