TV system. New ways.

We use a chrome cast and and an huawei mifi with 3 sim unlimited data to stream stuff . Normal tv there is a freeview antenna on our unit .
I am looking for an alternative to the three unlimited sim so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know (y)
Vodaphone 100gb,,20 pounds a month..Only failed me once last year in 90 days in Europe.plus its our source of internet in UK so we are not paying twice whilst away. BUSBY.

You will also need a good cellular package suitable for the use you have. ie predominantly UK or loads of Roaming. These are covered elsewhere, by experts like Minxy Girl .
Thank you for the compliment :blusher: but I don't profess to be an expert, just someone who does research stuff a lot to find out info for others to benefit from. 😁

There are a few threads about the Vodafone sims on here already and also 3 are apparently doing an unlimited one for £16 a month (12 month contract). Have a look at the following discounter sites:

We have a Sat dish & aerial but don't use it much. Have an Android TV box with 64GB of memory we load lots of series & films on it before we go away and do a fair bit of streaming depending on how much data we have. Connect the data using a Mifi with a MIMO rooftop aerial.
As Michael says it's easy if you know what you are doing but can struggle if you don't understand the technology.

Can get everything in Europe that i watch in UK just with firestick and tethering to my phone...Easier and quicker than tuning a dish. BUSBY.
But 20Gb/month is nowhere near enough for even our basic viewing needs

For me,
Sat dish, +box + the olde VHS&DVD player added up to nearly 35kg.

Laptop + tablet is 2-3kg. Motorhome WIFi @1kg
(Still waiting for DMS to confirm slot for fitting......)

That's useful payload. Nay, very useful payload

O2 unlimited data SIM @£30 per month.

My preference for BBC or Netflix is iplayer via Vodafone 100gb Sim on ipad, laptop or TV. For other stations with ads I mostly use freeview and freesat recorders (with snipe2 dish) where signal is good enough.

Other useful devices to have at home to avoid Ads or restrictions when abroad are a slingbox attached to home skyQ box to allow remote playback, plus a VPN server to improve security and overcome country restrictions on iPlayer etc.

Most recent purchase was an Anker Nebula Capsule which is a mini projector with android built in - works really well on dark nights.

We still have our satellite dish which is not so clever past the Loire but the wife's following of a couple of soaps, the news and a weekly live football match is covered by a 60Gb sim phone contract from Vodafone at £8.50. We will not transfer the satellite and are not that ardent watchers that we cannot go without TV/Internet for a few days if we were ever to get stuck in a phone signal free area. The wife watches in bed on a Smart Cello and on the laptop if outside so nothing extra to buy, poke, carry, forget. She has 30Gb on her contract so we do not need to ensure my phone is always available for her.

If you have an unlimited data Vodafone deal they limit the none uk usage. But if you have a X amount data Vodafone contract you can use the X amount of data outside the uk.
