A Truma system is lighter, so more suited to those vans with lesser payloads, and warms the air space up faster than Alde. Another advantage of Truma is that you can direct the heat to a particular area (eg shower) when you want to. A disadvantage is that the installer ought to be placing the boiler in the centre of the van and ensure that the back-pressure on all (four, I think) tubes exiting the boiler is the same. If not, the air will go down the easiest one rather than the others. I guess that those that heat poorly have not had such thought put into the design of their distribution systems.
My previous Truma was 2002 and worked well, so I’m not sure that the more recent technology has advanced its ability to heat evenly much. I’d prefer Alde if I could afford the weight penalty, but I’m happy with the Truma installed in mine (so far).
