Fiat ducato benimar
Just bought a new Fiat benimar and was under the impression my 12v leisure battery will run it if I would camp....is that correct ??

:welco:

12v only supplies the electronics to control the heater & the fan. The heater burner runs on gas.

If you have the electric option for the heating side you have a choice of gas, electric 1, electric 2 or mix of both .

So electric 1 or 2 cannot be powered from the leisure battery ?

A bit more info the Truma Combi 4 is 4 kw on gas, the Combi 6 is 6 kw.
In both the electric elements are 2 x 900 watt.

So you never get much heat on electric, if its cold best to bring it up to temperature on gas then electric may maintain it.

It is possible to run the hot water from 12v via an inverter but you would need to spend a few thousand on a decent size Lithium battery set up.

Normally cheaper to run on gas than electric, much cheaper if you have refillable gas bottles.
