Truma combi (E) leaking

Hi everyone,
Woke to find floor soaked from a slow dripping coming from my truma boiler.
Everything still works but had to put a tray under to catch water.
Can’t see where it’s coming from but main unit.
Is this an easy removal and fix ?
Did consider using it as heating air only and redirecting water to an instant hot and cold water system (like a shower has) .is this practical/safe/do-able ?
Any help please.

Check the hose connections to the unit. I had a leak all over the floor nothing obvious, when I checked the joints all appeared good, while checking the wife ran a tap and there was the leak hot water exit. Turn tap off and without the pump running leak stopped and any water ran down and dried off the offending connection. Undone and re-fixed and been fine for a good few years now.

Hi,
Doesn’t seem to be coming from red or blue pipes ,
It was coming from the bulk area under the insulation.

If you are certain that the leak is from inside and not a connection on the outside , you do not want to stripdown the unit yourself (as described in Resources) to check the boiler water container that is inside the unit , and if you do not have a local Truma repair agent who can repair it for you , Truma (01283 587960 )may be able to help or you could try www.thermotechnica.com to see if they can strip / repair the .unit

Possibly the blue elbow joint , put cloth around it and put back together , see what happens next week when I put water in.

Possibly the blue elbow joint , put cloth around it and put back together , see what happens next week when I put water in.

Ordered a new 10mm to 12mm elbow joint which arrives tomorrow so will see how that goes.

Has the vent pipe become detached from the elbow joint? The vent valve is well known for leaking and if the vent pipe which discharges below the floor has been knocked off you would get a wet floor.

Hi, no this was fine , ordered new cold water supply elbow , so I’ll shall see how that goes.

Took side off,which is where water comes out ,mostly once water is hot , now I don’t know what to do ?

You could find that a seal kit may fix things but if the water container itself ( Truma part No 34020-00227) is leaking they are expensive and a complete replacement unit may be worth considering (Thermotechnica do a basic replacement)

Truma quote £293.41 + vat + labour to replace tank only.
£2500 for new boiler.
New Truma boiler on Google anywhere between £1200-£1500.
Looks like that might be my best fix.

A complete Thermotechnica straight swap replacement for a Truma 4E unit seems to be around £950 and may be worth a look at.

Mine is the Truma 6E . Look at technical differences but can’t make too much out of it. Been dragging my feet but may just get an exact replacement and stop the headache. £1500 Includes 10mtrs of ducting ,which I need some of now.
