Help! Been away this weekend. First trip of the year. Switched on boiler and after a short period this hot water pipe burst. It seemed okay when just on electric heating water but burst when I tested the gas heating. I changed the pipe and tested again and the second pipe burst. Both happened at the same position next to this connection which I believe is a pressure release valve. Thnaks in anticipation

There are strange marks above, below and to the right of the hole. Perhaps it is rubbing against something or has become damaged during fitting. Truma described the valve as a vent rather than a pressure relief valve.

It's not a pressure release valve it is to allow air out when the boiler is filled, it is also the hot water outlet.
I would say the hot water thermosate is faulty and the water is getting too hot.

Thanks. That makes sense. When on electric only and 40c it did not burst. When put on gas and electric 60c it did. Sounds expensive !
Thanks
