Now we are able to again we will be going to France/ Spain and maybe Portugal, I have applied for the Ghic cards and just done a search for travel insurance. For me an annual policy is £113, I haven't got a quote for Mrs Odd as she is waiting for tests so will not get cover at the moment. I didn't think £113 is too bad, I have a couple of minor heath conditions, it's with a defaqto 5 star company, does it seem good value?

Yes!

If you are over 70, that is suspiciously cheap!
Check how many days you can be away at any one time.
What is the excess?

Ours is about £340 minor medical ,BP,cholesterol, bph, so I think you got a good deal if everything else is OK.

That sounds too cheap ours was £380 for 10 week single trip at 66 no issues other than AF that I’ve had for 16 years

I don't remember the insurer, I haven't gone past the comparison site yet I just wanted an idea. Life is strange sometimes, for years we couldn't go too far because of caring responsibilities, now that's not needed, we can't go abroad until Mrs Odd gets has a full diagnosis. I ordered the GHIC cards because they last five years but I think it will be September before we can get out of the country

I'd like to know the provider too! That's way cheaper than my insurer!

Take a look at Nationwide FlexPlus.. Their £13/month includes UK and EU breakdown. We find it a good deal. However they are just about to change insurer for travel, no over 65 charge, but be careful of other conditions. Your quote seems very low - watch out for length of absence and other ’normal’ conditions that stop applying as we get older 👨‍🦳😖

This is just the "come and buy" quote I expect when I go to the company and fill in all the details it will go up.

I agree, once you click on the link to take out the policy there will be add-ons you will want that will push the price up. Also, as your wife is under medical investigation, her premium may be a little eye-watering.

31 days per trip is quite restrictive - I have 55 and I had to pay extra to get more than the standard (for them) 45 they offered.

When I did the first search the price was £113 and 60 days. Once Mrs. Odd has a diagnosis and we are ready to go I will check carefully, we're thinking of upto 3 months in the winter so that may restrict us

I doubt you will get 90 days per trip on an annual policy.

The alternative is to look for a single trip insurance where you can enter your departure/return dates (or state 3 months) , and see what comes up.
