Trying to empty the boiler, however water won’t come out outside unelss i push the safety valve (red one on the photo) down too. Is this normal, both have to be in the open position ? I thought water would have to come out by opening the yellow valve only regardless of position of safety valve?

The red is the auto switch right that triggers below 8 degrees ?

The yellow is the manual valve ??

I'm guessing the yellow tap on the red pipe is to let cold water from the main tank into the boiler for heating up.
Therefore the normal position would be open.

The red button is to drain the boiler
It will also come into effect at +5c (or maybe +3c or +8c )
To drain the boiler to stop it freezing.

If the yellow tap is open as well, it would eventually also drain the main tank, (very slowly)

It would appear you have the option with the yellow tap of not filling the boiler, so if you don't need hot water, then shut off the yellow tap.
But you would need to ensure you also do not use the hot water sink taps, as the boiler (and pump ?) would be running on dry.

Keep in mind to fill the boiler tank (about 20 litres), you need the main tank at least half full.

On our old Hymer, the red auto dump valve drained the boiler. Push it down. 👍

Cheers,

Jock. :)
It does but it thought this was the anti frost protection valve? I can see two different tubes under the Motorhome coming out from around same place so I thought one is fork the anti frost valve and one from the yellow valve ?

I thought manually I could just use the yellow valve to empty the boiler

The yellow valve is in the red pipe(hot water) so I would say it will drain all the hot water lines. I have a similar valve on my van and that's what it does,I just spent a day last week going through draining mine down.hope this helps.
Cheers Cris 🍻.
Might have been covered by the post above but I can't read it,at the moment.

Cheers that may be the answer cause only a tiny bit of water comes out when I open the yellow valve only.

Here's a quick video I posted last week.

Do remember to 'pull' the red valve back up when you want to refill!!!!!

But don't bother until the cold spell is over.
