Touring Norway without a Toll Tag

We are leaving next week to tour Norway just realised that I have forgot to order a toll tag, I have always managed without in Spain and France hopefully it will be the same in Norway, as I don't think I can get one in time!

Do get one, cheaper, quicker. the port you are arriving at maybe able to sort you out but worth a bit of on line research before you go. You will need an international bank transfer method as it is billed to your bank direct and not via a uk based bank. We used Moneycorp but there are others. Just need to fund it. when you are on the ferries the walk around with a scanner which clocks the amount.

It started in 2022 but I’ve been reading it through and it didn’t end until 2024! It appears that someone ordered a toll tag but even though it hadn’t arrived the account was active and almost everywhere the ANPR cameras worked. This meant they could get the add on for ferry discounts.

If you only do the online thing Epass24 that doesn’t cover ferries but it would be better than nothing. The link is below in my second post. I messed it up first time , sorry.

When you open it for some reason it opens on page 3. You need to go back to page 1.

Well all sorted now with AutoPASSferje and OresundGo (Oresund bridge)! The Hirtshals ferry prices to Norway in July & August look really expensive and almost double those in September so I guess this summer holidays we will be heading over the Oresund bridge and blasting up the motorways to Oslo...

I'm the member that carolyn mentioned whose physical tag arrived too late, but got on just fine without it, as everything (both road tolls and ferries) also works by ANPR.

Just make sure you've registered your vehicle with one of the third party providers, and then make your prepayment in order to receive the ferry discount. The physical tag is not needed.

Enjoy your trip to Norway. Very jealous. We've pencilled in a revisit hopefully for summer 2026.
