Will doMake sure you have your Funster Sticker displayed
You can’t miss me the van has Otter Spotter on the front and rear.
That’s ok then, I wanted to try and get some minimal landscapes using big stopper. I really like some of Michael Kenna’s work, his ‘forms of Japan’ work is great.Still thinking about that. Have a look at Bruce Percy's work if you like Michael Kenna. Bruce has just put up a great set of minimalistic images from Harris. I love your work, it’s the sort of Photography I want to aspire to. I have been concentrating on Otters and wildlife for too long. Whilst not up to Bruce's standards; here are some of mine from previous trips to Harris - see https://philcorley.com/isle-of-harris/
I just love Harris for photography
Well if we end up in the same place sometime, I would be happy to give your some guidance. But in the meantime, drop me a mail anytime if you need help or advice with anything.I love your work, it’s the sort of Photography I want to aspire to. We stayed at the Kelpies in December went to pay and the guy told us no charge in winter and you can now stay at the top car park from 2023.
where is the information about the top car park as that's new to me?
Information came from the guy in the hut that takes the money at the top car park so I took him at his word.
Yes A82 North of Tarbet is interesting.. However in my view anyone coming North to Scotland who finds this bit of road "disturbing/demanding " maybe better of giving Scotland a miss..... There are many many roads up here a lot more demanding and requiring a lot more care and concentration than this one ...I have sent you a map.
Some ideas
Alwick Casle
Blair Athol Castle
Sterling Castle
Edinburgh Castle --- Park & ride train from Prestontans
Culzean Castle
Falkirk Wheel
Kelpies at Falkirk
Pitlockry
Oban – A816 – A83 to Loch Lomond Tarbet – DO NOT use the A82 north above Tarbet
Fort William
Caingormes
A939 Breamar to A95 Elgin
I love Scotland's roads but that one is so narrow and naggery. I clouted both mirrors on on coming coaches. I avoid it now.Yes A82 North of Tarbet is interesting.. It would be better on the top car park was available, the existing one is a public unsecured parking so when we stayed I had to have a hard conversation with a 30 something male who parked up after 12 midnight blasting his music at festival levels.Well Ive messaged them to find out but theres nothing on any of their social media about that or their website so I'd find it very unlikely they will be suddenly allowing motorhome stopovers in the top car park (especially after @Bobbydaisys post, but we'll see.
Both mirrors? Any chance of a diagram on how that is achieved? Everyone seems to have it in for my offside one, in this country at least. The Pompiers had a go at the other one near Le Bourget du LacI love Scotland's roads but that one is so narrow and naggery. I clouted both mirrors on on coming coaches. I avoid it now.

They need to get a lockable barrier then to stop non Motorhomers from disturbing the overnighters.Well confirmation from them today that the top car parks are NOT open for staying over, only the bottom one.
Have stayed here 3 or 4 times and never a problemThey need to get a lockable barrier then to stop non Motorhomers from disturbing the overnighters.
Oban , Seaview at Benderloch , this site is a lovely site with a great couple who run it , you would struggle to better it in the Oban area ,Have been thinking of the trip to Scotland and have decided after The Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel we would head over towards Oban and Fort William. Perhaps do the NC500 next year when we have more time.
We are looking now for places to stop along the coast there and for lovely places to visit. (could be sites or over nighting somewhere remote) even over to the islands. Any help/suggestions will be gratefully received. Thanks.
Fort William , great site , easy access to the town , good pitches and facilities with views of Ben Nevis , quick access to the walk up if you’re up for itHave been thinking of the trip to Scotland and have decided after The Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel we would head over towards Oban and Fort William. There's a nice easy road to Ullapool, a nice town and a great chip shop. Glencoe is a fabulous road and a great stopover for a fiver.Have been thinking of the trip to Scotland and have decided after The Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel we would head over towards Oban and Fort William. Agree Ullapool is lovely..... But maybe not for OP this time, Ullapool must be about 120mls North of his choice of Fort William,There's a nice easy road to Ullapool, a nice town and a great chip shop. Glencoe is a fabulous road and a great stopover for a fiver.
