Too cold for LPG, what do you do?

Going back when we're at Haro in Spain, I went to the Toilet block with a bucket and ran myself a bucket of hot water.
When I got back to the van I dropped a Camping Gaz bottle into it and used that to get the kettle on.

I came back last year with a full bottle of "French". Made sure I used it first before the cooler weather in the UK. Alternative is to head further south.

Had similar on a Broads Cruiser in December and was told to get a bloke to pee on it ......... but an alternative was to use a click activated heat pad - that did the trick and a lot more socially acceptable.

This is useful information on log gas mixtures. I always try and run down any European gas to a minimum before coming back home.

A very useful link.

I have usually filled up in autumn on return home, but I now realise that if I do that in Poland before 1/11 I might get too much % Butane.

We were had planned to go to the Tatra Mts. for Easter but overnight was forecast -4C to -1C so we cancelled.

We could have been in the same trouble.

We have filled up with cheaper Autogas on our way back from Germany, Belgium, and France in late September/early October, and have never suffered a problem with using that Autogas butane/propane mix whilst touring in the UK over winter.

Our refillable cylinders are stored in an external, but an unheated gas locker. (y)
We do have a Truma Auto Changeover system, and a Isex gas valve heater system, but have never ever had to use the latter...........despite the mix of butane/propane. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
