This French Motorhome fell in love with us we moved so he moved next to us.
the crowding effect is a commonly applied technique for pickpocket gangs, and perverts getting a grope.... be aware
... maybe that's why he 'adjusted' to it, perhaps he enjoyed being group groped!the crowding effect is a commonly applied technique for pickpocket gangs, and perverts getting a grope.... be aware
Found just the opposite when I had the Yanky RV , no one came near , maybe they felt intimidated ,
These foreign types don’t have the personal space issues that us British have.
There was a campervan a bit further along earlier. Strangely they left just as it started to get dark. I did contemplate moving but wrongly thought...no one will come nowYou left the “view” open to be taken Dwarfland
You should have parked sideways on and blocked the view, then we would have seen pics of your van on a French funstr site complaining of inconsiderate britsTo prove my point, an hour after I posted this, our new neighbour turned up. We’re the one on the left. Although there’s a huge amount of free space, he decided to park so close that his trailer is a foot from my driver’s door. I’ll have to back-up to get out!View attachment 319073
i think parking in a line is much better side by side seems to isolate people where as in line gives you more chance to socialise with vans along both rowsI think this has a lot to do with it. Picture attached is from a site we stayed on in Lake Garda. Ok, we were on an organised tour but the whole site was parked up like this.

EDIT - I had to actually parallel park to get into my pitch!

Good idea! And you don’t need to go the whole hog, just install the vent in the hatch? And pretend. Can't win really, there's a post about Aire etiquette complaining about taking up too much room er "pitches" (no pitches on Aires BTW) and leaving too much front and rear space, and now a post about people parking too close.
Come on folks, whats it to be? Lets duel it out...
Pegs at 40 paces I think!
(Get a SOG fitted, NO one will park within 50 feet of you!)
Can't see the picsHere’s tonight’s bizarre parking manoeuvre. First picture shows the car park and how much space there is.
Second picture shows 2nd motorhome along which turned up half an hour ago. Full car park to choose from but he parks in between 2 other m/h’s A couple of foot from each. Luckily we went right to the end and parked sideways so fingers crossed...though I know someone is going to turn up at 9pm and park right in front of us!

The driver has gone for the flattest part with the nicest view and most shade. Most drivers would have parked in that space - maybe giving a bit more room but not much.
