Tolls to Perpignan

Went from st Malo to Perpignan with 5 ton Tag axle this week automatic tolls all the way then on to Barcelona and only charged at class 2 with no hassle
Saw various posts on here got me thinking we might have to pay class3 or 4 but no problem at all

Interesting, changed ours since last visit and the new one is just over 3500 wondered after seeing posts on here if I would have a problem with the tag. I'll just try it and see

are you under 3m high ? i think its the hieght that sometimes triggers the class3

I thought it was the height that made a difference to the toll fee as it would be difficult to tell which MHs were above and below 3500kg unless they were monster ones? Is there an extra charge for a 3rd axle?

Did you pay at the booths or do you have a Sanif tag (don't mean axle)?

Classification depends on height, weight and number of axles:

OP should be class 4, don't think people in the UK would be too happy if foreign vehicles avoided paying the correct tolls.

This is from the Sanef website:

"In addition your vehicle or motorcycle MUST BE under 3m in height and less than 3.5t in weight."

You're not required to produce a V5 when applying for a Sanef Liber-T tag.

Consequently some unscrupulous souls with vehicles no taller than 3m buy tags when they're a smidgeon over 3.5 tonnes

..especially when they get charged Classe 2 every time at the automated toll gates. No loss to Sanef, and helps speed up the flow through the gates.

5 Ton Tag Got me for class 4 at one even after arguing class 2. No she said too many wheels, pay or I will call security.
All other times was OK. I wasn't happy but still got me to Spain quicker.

You should have been well pleased, you got charged the correct rate for once.

No 3.1 but didn’t go under any barriers
