When I bought a set of Marquart shock absorbers from Germany I had the 20% VAT to pay plus a handling charge from the courier this was not a huge amount. I can look for the invoice if need be.

Slips off like a turd on a greased shovel. A term that came from the old steam train drivers and engineers that would use the shovel and throw the deposit into the fire. An early version of the incinerator toilets that are now offered

Before or after they cooked their breakfast on the shovel?

🤢🤮. Dont fancy storing one of those in our ‘bijoux’ washroom 🤔
I have this attached to bottom of washroom wall beside the toilet with the suckers. Brush stored the other way up though and no sponge! Easy to keep clean with shower spray.

The porcelain insert is ‘just’ below the plastic one leaving the blade to cover the ceramic tube. I did as someone on here suggested on an early thread (which prompted my purchase) put some sealant around the exit hole first and then seal the gap with the sealant smoothing with my sealant tool. The sealant purchased from the company is very specialised (used by boeing) and does feel a particularly tight and smooth seal IMHO.
I didn’t realise was all sealed together - that makes sense 🙂

That I understand. There can be a handling charge for VAT collection if it wasn't charged by the seller. The seller is supposed to register with HMRC and submit VAT themselves unless they sell below a certain total value per year to the UK.

Wonder where I can buy one next time I go Germany, I could fit it there and then and save a few pennies👍😁

If you order online and just go for the liner itself, then it will be vat free. Postage is included for free. What’s more is after a few seconds a pop-up will appear offering 10% discount if you sign up with your email address to receive occasional marketing (opt out at any time). The replacement cost me under a £100.
