On my Mohawk the toilet door has a plastic hinge from top to bottom thats fixed with double sided tape and screws. The hinge has started to split so I would like to replace it. Anyone know what it's called or where to get it from. I know I can probably get it from Auto-trail but I don't want to take out a second mortgage at the moment.

It's not a piano hinge, it's made of what looks like polypropylene no hinge pin just a sort of crease down the length of it that acts as the hinge point and it's that that has started to split. Been looking and they are called flexible hinges but I cant find brown or a full length door jobbie.

It's similar to this Monroe plastic living hinge but brown.

I don't see why it will not work unless you see something that I don't.
I spent 15 years or so as a shopfitter and joiner, so I have a rough idea of doors and hinges.
Go for it then, only going by what it was like on our auto trail.

Not mine to go for, I'm not the OP. :giggle:

Interested in how this plastic hinge is being used. On your AT, is this plastic hinge fitted flat on the surface across the door and panel the door is hung on, or what would be the gap between the door and the panel the door is hung on?

Asked the question on an Auto Trail face ache page, others have replaced thiers with ones from Screwfix (HERE) but they are white not brown. Apparently they are to stop fingers getting piched in the door jam but Auto Trail use them for modesty when you are in the Loo.

Gellyneck Just got a reply from Auto-Trail, it's called a door hinge protector 2m length PVC Part No 12PV10021 £24.21 + VAT + P&P
Not sure what to do at the mo as others on the face ache page have replaced with like for like and had the same problem down the line.

Our hinge split at the bottom but never got any worse so we just left it and carried on using it.

Almost a Newbie but not quite now.
Our Savannah has the same and is 12 years old. We have never replaced this hinge and it shows no signs of giving out.
Be just my luck now for it to split over Easter jaunts. :giggle:
