Hi,

Not a very exciting topic, but can anyone please advise what the best toilet chemicals are to use please? Some seem quite expensive, are those ones much better or will any do as such?

Many thanks

We use bio liquid rather than the sachets. Just needs to be the bio one. If we can't get to Lidl we just buy any Supermarket's cheapest bio.

These are the Lidl ones, but I didn’t find every Lidl had them recently in Germany - which is odd as they are a German company

That's what I use as well (or another alternative if no Lidl nearby). I tend to use two as a primer and add an extra one if the cassette isn't emptied after 2 or 3 days.

Everyone has their own favourite method and you will find it best to experiment. I use the Lidl bio washing tabs but then I have a SOG which really helps on the smells front and I don’t mind any smells when dumping.

Just don’t use domestic toilet chemicals on the plastic of your MH toilet.

Some campsites won’t allow you to empty if you are using the blue chemical.
Hi Annie - I have to ask, what is the issue with domestic toilet chemicals if used on the plastic toilet?

They are not really designed for use on plastic and could stain, particularly those that have colouring in. I don’t think it’s worth the risk when it’s so expensive and often difficult, to replace MH washroom parts.

I do hope the sewerage systems can deal with all the chemicals being added to the mains drainage water before it ends up in my glass of orange squash.
I did read that the water in the Thames has already been used 5 times before it reaches Tower Bridge.... Hmm.

Yes, you have to change the filter. Hopefully you'll receive a file of user manuals for all the kit - loo, fridge, water heater, cooker, etc. etc. Most owners keep them to provide to the new owner. If not, you can Google the product name and get all the user and techy info you'll need online.

All you need is the product name and model number
For example, if the fridge should be a Dometic model RM 5380
Here is the user manual in English that I found on the Dometic website
If you cannot find it yourself just post on here and we will help hunt for it :) Don’t use the websites where you have to pay.

I tried to learn Swedish for a couple of years of classes but unfortunately languages do not come naturally to me. Thankfully there is google translate these days !
