Mines in her late 50's and still struggling with the toast.Mine's 20 years old and working fine.
What the wedding or the toaster???
That’s what we use. It’s cheap and works! We have used this type for many years. Works very well on the gas burner in the van or a small portable gas one outside the van for when you have breakfast outside. Also very cheap 6-10€/£View attachment 387587
Non stick cooking surfaces should never be made very hot as it lets off toxic fumes that kill birds oif inhaled by them and causes illness in humans. Just google it if you need more info.I have used a non stick frying pan, get it really hot first then slap in your bread, turn when it has reached the right colour for you. (we do carry a small electric one for when on hook up. Not tried my ridge monkey but would imagine it is similar to the frying pan.
I've got a ceramic frying pan as I also have a pet bird so ditched the Teflon pan. (Not tried it for toast ... Yet.) Will try & remember to use it next time I make toast.Non stick cooking surfaces should never be made very hot as it lets off toxic fumes that kill birds oif inhaled by them and causes illness in humans. What do people use to toast bread? I don't want a mains powered toaster but something I can either put on the hob or in the oven. Probably hob actually, the oven takes a bit longer to heat up.
This kind of contraption is available on Amazon for £6 so it's worth a try but I wanted to ask if anyone else has already done the research into perfect toast on the go?
We bought a very small oven rated at up to 1Kw so needs a hookup or an inverter for power. I have a device similar to that illustrated which does small pieces of bread not slices and uses the gas burner for the heat so can be used anywhere. What do people use to toast bread? Agree, are we missing something or are there people out there without a grill? Why not just put it under the grill, simples, btw the wire contraption is best left where you saw it.
aware of that Jez, thanks mine has a red spot which changes colour when it is hot enough to use doubt manufacturer will have set that at a toxic level.Non stick cooking surfaces should never be made very hot as it lets off toxic fumes that kill birds oif inhaled by them and causes illness in humans. Many/most PVC's dont come with oven/grill combo - I rethink its space constraints, plus ovens are a UK market thing in the main I believeAgree, are we missing something or are there people out there without a grill?
Good point - I guess as they're always placed under the hob, we would always have to at least lose one of our large storage drawers, even without the ovenI thought grills were part of the stoves. Our little caravan had twin spinflo stoves with grill underneath, no oven. Takes hardly any extra space up ?
You could still use it as a drawer I suppose, just use a slide out tray in it ?Good point - I guess as they're always placed under the hob, we would always have to at least lose one of our large storage drawers, even without the oven
? not sure I fancy explaining How the fire damage came about to the insurance company ..?You could still use it as a drawer I suppose, just use a slide out tray in it ?
