Thanks lenny not made my mind up what to do trade or private,,Depends, if selling privately will make it easier to sell.
If trading depends on the dealer most dealers aren't bothered so you could take stuff off.
We are leaving everthing on our van and trading it, been given a very good price and I want to fit better equipment to the new van.

Definitely take them all off
They might make the van easier to sell but not more valuable.v
You could sell as as extras on a private sale
Just leave the fill cap.Going through similar thought process right now with our PVC - if we sell to upgrade to a bigger van, what would we leave on the van.
I'm thinking we'll strip out most things that "don't leave a mark"(or at least the marks can be hidden) e.g. lithium, b2b, inverter, extra solar panels, dash cam, TV, 5g router etc.
Solar panels are relatively simple to strip as they're attached to a Thule smart rail thingy. Will put back the original PWM controller.
3.75m Thule awning is debatable. I guess it might be a sweetener for a potential buyer, although would be overly ambitious to expect to recover the cost of the awning on the sale and possibly won't fit whichever new van we end up getting (prob not a PVC).
Gaslow would be more tricky - not sure yet how to handle the resulting hole in the rear skirt.
Things like Remis side/front blinds, proplates, heolocks etc didn't come as standard, but would be a right faff to remove so will prob leave on the van.
thanks what about the aircon unit ,,anyone moved to another van ? or is it to much hassle ? £800 bike rack ,,£600 fiama rear storage box ,,sterling b2b ,,sat system wifi roof mounted antenna new alloys and tyres ,,/? tow bari would suggest you need to factor in what can be removed without leaving 'issues' - ie would you remove an inverter, b2b, lithium battery, solar panels, refillable gas cylinder, underslung tank, air suspension ...
I suppose only you know if it's too much hassle plus whether anything removed will fit your new van? Or you could take the opportunity to remove and sell the items, and put the money towards new, allowing you to upgrade?thanks what about the aircon unit ,,anyone moved to another van ? or is it to much hassle ? £800 bike rack ,,£600 fiama rear storage box ,,sterling b2b ,,sat system wifi roof mounted antenna new alloys and tyres ,,/? tow bar
Thanks...yes kept the old alloys...I suppose only you know if it's too much hassle plus whether anything removed will fit your new van? Or you could take the opportunity to remove and sell the items, and put the money towards new, allowing you to upgrade?
A new sat system wouldn't be cheap ... and neither would new alloys or tyres.
From your list, if trading in, I would be removing the B2B, sat dish, WiFi antenna, bike rack, rear box and tow bar. If you have replacement wheels and tyres, I would remove them aswell.
Just out of interest how much did it cost you to remove the leveling units ? CheersYour common sense tells you what you would hope to find on your next van. If you would want it and are selling privately, leave it on. If trading in, take it off.
FWIW, we sold our previous Hymer through Motorhome Depot (very good). We took off the E&P levelling as there's no way you can recover even a quarter of that cost, but left everything else. It was sold to the first people who came to see it.
I would be thinking about taking off the aircon, levellers, Victron shunt and solar controller and tow bar but leaving the WiFI arialJust thinking about this,,should you sell the motorhome with all the extra bits or sell it with them, do you get any extra,,....?
When I had it fitted new on the Hymer, I talked to the main guy at Courtside Conversions about removal in later years if we downsized. So he built the pump unit in a custom made box in the garage, and made a dummy seat panel for the fixed control panel. Thus keeping the original to re-fit later. There was no extra charge for this as he said E&P have a fixed price depending on the system / van and the installers take rough with smooth. It was a superb solution. You would not have known it had been there.Just out of interest how much did it cost you to remove the leveling units ? Cheers
