Replaced the cartridge on our Whale tap (pressure system not switched) to stop a leak but after a year, it’s started leaking again. I have bought a new tap in anticipation but would welcome any tips when fitting it. I have a box spanner that fits the single bolt attaching the tap to the kitchen top but am not clear how the two connector tails fit. I imagine one has to hold the top of the tail with something like a mole grip and loosen the tail with a spanner. But in researching this, I’ve seen mentioned that these tails may simply push in to connect.
I was hoping to actually leave the existing tails in situ, remove the faulty tap and simply connect the new tap to the tails. But if this is considered a bad idea, then how do the new tails fit the pipes?
I’ve attached a photo for hopefully, some clarity. Thanks.
