I had the first tinned meat I’ve had in years just today, fried spam sandwiches for lunch, wow. Probably about as bad for me as possible but again, wow just as good as I remembered.
Good afternoon,

Obviously a man of immpecable taste but do,nt forget the HP

Sorry to but in on the talk about Spam and other foods you cannot take into the EU, can you take things like baked beans and pasta, also if you are a vegetarian can you take Tofu products there is nothing to say that you cannot take vegetarian products into the EU or alternative milk like oat or almond, only dairy, meat and fruit/veg, or have i missed something. :worried:

I never had the taste for spam. To me it's another worldy stuff that has no relation to anything else. Gastly. But I suppose if you're hungry enough?

So, are ships not allowed to dock in EU ports or aeroplanes not allowed to land at EU airports .....,
Both carry meat and milk products for passenger meals.

Just stopped at a village aire near Bilbao. Nowhere open no bars or shops. So i opened a can of Mackerel fillets bought in France a couple of years ago. Been back and to a few times before being consumed in Spain today.

On a non MotorHome trip, used Eurostar London to Paris. Encouraged to take food rather than rely on what s on train. No checks at all. Bought cheese and ham sandwiches and walked into train.

Just went though a few days ago with bacon, eggs, fruit, veg, precooked meals in the freezer, whiskey, etc etc. No problems.

Think its official now. They just aren’t bothered or too busy to be bothered. Will bring my home fridge leftovers next time.

We brought everything we would have pre 'B' including some packs of lovely bacon offcuts which were actually chops! :tounge:

At the aire the other day we met an English couple who had been away for 6 weeks but hadn't brought anything with them. Hubby was teasing them with our bacon and they were drooling so in the end we 'donated' 2 of the chops to them. To say they were happy is an understatement! 😄

Spam is still considered a luxury item in S Korea, they are the second biggest consumers after the USA. It’s leftover from the Korean War. I read it somewhere as a weird fact but daughter confirmed it when she was there. I could understand them eating it initially but to carry on with it , very strange.

Fans of spam (I'm one, but . . .) and other processed stuff might do themselves a favour and give Panorama a look tonight - literally food for thought . . .

Dam… I’ve broken the law AGAIN…😱

I’m such a rebel…😎
