Time to license mobility scooters...?

Many folk do see them as an alternative to cars. I understand, though, that they should only be used with disabilities. The increase in use is attributed to the increase in collisions, damage, injuries to non users.

Should they be restricted to those with disabilities? Should they be identifiable?
both mobility scooters riders and cyclists should be identifiable.

I can drink 3 pints and be perfectly safe to drive, and a mobilty scooter user cannot be breath tested. So not unsafe to go home from the pub on a scooter
Gasman have you been drinking? Either that or you’ve been exposed to too much GAS ;) (y)

Mrs B and I own e-bikes which we use when in Spain and France because they have good cycle route and Spain extremely wide roads in towns.
You haven't been to Santa Pola then?
On the subject of able-bodied using mobility scooters, a lot of the tattooed lager louts hire them to traverse the prom in Benidorm in the style of Max Verstappen with the emphasis on the 'max'.

3 pints of beer or lager is over the alcohol limit; no matter what you think about your capacity to drive, you would not be legal or safe to drive after 3 pints (assuming they were drunk in a reasonably short time). 3 pints would require 7 hrs after the last drink to be safe.
My horsey friends and I used to go do pub crawls on horseback, BUT we only ever had soft drinks because you can be done for being in charge of a horse.
It should be the same for any mode of transport that could harm someone. I know the scooter I use is a heavy beast and that's without my backside sat on it, if I hit someone it could really hurt them.
