Hi
I've had a couple of campervans so far and a caravan (eriba puck if that counts). We had a Type 2 vw which was real fun but constantly costing us money and we currently have a LHD 2013 Poessl 2 win which we are reluctantly selling (devastated as we've had it from new and it's just lovely) but sadly circumstances have changed and it's time to downsize so are going for a renault trafic to convert ourselves. I'm hoping to get some advice on electrics etc in a self build as I'm bamboozled :)
Also, any advice on the best places to advertise to sell would be much appreciated.
Looking forward to having the chats with you all !

As regards selling the pössl Simon-Alan Kerr might be able to help you, he’s a highly regarded dealer that buys selected motorhomes and camper vans👍
Good luck with what ever you replace it with👍

OH and w2f

Thank you, I'll have a look now :)

Sorry you are having to sell, Ebay classified is the place to maximise price achieved but doesn’t come without some hassle and risk. Set a higher than expected price and be aware of the scammers that will inevitably come your way. If not comfortable with that, then selling to a dealer or through motorhomedepot may be better.

Good luck with your self-build,

Hi, thanks for your advice. Yes it's sad we have to sell but we've had some great times in it. We've just spent a couple of days sprucing it up for the photos and it looks brand new so it's making it more of a wrench. I just hope it goes to someone who'll get lots of joy from it. I'm excited to design my own little diddy camper though so it's not all bad :)

If you subscribe here on this site, we have a classified section that is viewed by thousands of people really into motorhomes and camper vans

On the electrics side, having converted a few myself, I advise that you keep it as simple as possible, run trunking to protect the cables as you build and keep a good record of every wire run. It makes fixing any faults so much easier later on. Always over specify the size of cables used. Only use LED lighting

Oh thanks, I'll have a look at the subscription option. And believe me it'll have to be simple, I don't know what it is about electrics but they terrify and confuse me equally :)

Lots of knowledge here:-
Lenny on batteries,
Tam on bodywork,
Wissel on interiors ....

lol

Keep it simple...

Hi Lisa, location and photos would be good and a rough idea on price?
Alex

We do have a resident van buyer that offers a £1 a week option .

Or put a few pics of it on here and a rough price , always people looking ror vans.

Join a few self build groups on Facebook too and youll get help with the electrics.

Do not just trust the views of one van builder as they differ immensely

If you do Facebook there's a really good group called Campervan Electrics. I've had lots of good input from members there.
