As per title, are there any current THS sites on the canal network, nice location and a nearby pub would be a bonus

There are often THS's and Club Meets at Lyme View Marina on the Macclesfield Canal, Nr Poynton.

It's a couple of miles walk into Poynton where there are several pubs inc. a Wetherspoons.

A nice quiet location despite being a few miles east of Manchester Airport.

The site is in the field where the word Marina is in the image above. There is a bit of hardstanding at the Marina for MHs if the field is wet.

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Another very pleasant canal side site is Home Farm CL at Stoke Bruerne. Two very pleasant pubs within half a mile and an interesting museum. Indian restaurant and cafe too.

No EHU though.
Lovely spot right alongside the canal. Have stayed there a few times whilst en route.
I heard later that the pub adjacent to the CL ('The Navigation'?) allows overnighting in their car park but I haven't stayed in it.

If it keeps raining at the Porthmadog one then you will have your own private canal outside your van. Nice and sunny at home but two weeks to go here yet.

Ah yes, there's also The Barge Inn beside the K&A canal at Honeystreet. Some very eclectic (O.K. a bit 'Alternative' - guitars, brown bread and espadrilles, beads and Dreamcatchers) customers among the clientele which is said to be the HeadquartersQ of the crop circle movement.

Ty Mawr near Colemere, Shropshire is a nice little C&CC site. Field backs onto the Shropshire canal. Pub is a mile or 2 walk.

That was my last stop on my most recent trip. Had a nice steak at the Navigators to round off the break. The Navigators pub car park could be a bit tight for a big van when it's busy.

There’s a THS starting tomorrow (15 - 27 August) at Halsall near Southport. It’s close to the Leeds - Liverpool Canal, Ormskirk and Southport.

Er is it Bradford on Avon where the bridge is closed to vehicles until further notice owing to structural damage by an Uber?

Yes, thank you
The Hand and Dagger Salwick, right next to the Lancaster Canal and has waste and hooks ups plus great pub.

The Hand & Dagger is a traditional country pub, dog friendly, with an open fire and Beer Garden, enjoying a pretty rural location by the Lancaster Canal at Treales, nr. Kirkham. Serves a range of excellent home-made dishes mixing traditional pub fayre with modern dishes and the best Sunday Lunch in the area. Also bar nibbles and daily specials and all dishes are available in half portions for children. Food allergies catered for on request. Table reservations recommended. Outside catering service offered and available for private functions. Campsite open Friday to Sunday, 5 Pitches available at £5 per night, subject to availability. All pitches must be booked in advance.

The Sharpness Sports & Social Club is close to the start of the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and takes motorhomes and caravans all year round as well as hosting the odd rally. The price was £10 last time we stayed and I doubt it will have gone up much, if at all. It's a great location with interesting bits to look at around Sharpness docks and easy walking or cycling along the canal to the Purton Hulks ships graveyard and further on to Slimbridge Wildlife & Wetlands Centre.
