Are you 'The Dave' that helped show me around? I thought it was all owned by the charity ?

Sorry about that, I would like to attend just the Stow Maris meeting and also participate in the meal please.

Sadly cannot attend the other meet due to other commitments. Cheers!

PS. Only me attending. 👍

Good evening mister B Yes I think I will try and attend this one especially as I have never been to any.
Which one do you want to attend? Thorpe le Soken, Stow Maries or both?

Might try both 🤔
Well, when you actually make up your mind and ask to attend then I will add you to the attendees list ...

Sometimes organising a rally can become a bloody nightmare .... 🙄🙄🙄

Thanks Lisa , and mines not even a big one ... Ooeerr missus, in my best Frankie Howard voice ..

Yes please can you put me down
For which rally or both, if you want to attend Stow Maries do you want the meal? How many people?

And do you want to book for the meal at Stow Maries and if so is it one or two people please.
As regards the confusion, don't take it personal but if people read through the thread of ANY rally, they usually pick up on the salient points, but notwithstanding that, vague responses are very frustrating as the organiser has to keep asking for clarification.

On my part, I suppose I really need to set out the information required in order to reserve a space on 'a rally' and adding an additional 'extension' looks to have caused confusion to not just you, so I need to get better at herding cats lol!

Yes it can’t be easy sometimes trying to organise something that especially when you have to keep emailing people.

Hi MisterB please book me in for two people for the meal and I will go to both of the meeting as I have never been to one before, I also find it hard to work my way through the site sometimes, I can imagine how hard it is to arrange these get togethers with only having to wait for messages to come. Anyway hope this will get booked now and hope to meet you on the day. Chris

A quick update, the Rally at Stow Maries is unfortunately looking unlikely especially at the cost i suggested it might be. The museum has a 'bottom' line that they need to get in order to make it viable for them. Their main costs seems to staffing costs as they would need to pay someone to be there throughout the rally. For me the imperatives in running the rally are the museum tour, elsan emptying and water availability and of course overnight secure camping.

There appear to be some options if we want it to go ahead.

1 - increase the number of attendees - which might happen, but i cant leave it until the last moment to confirm obviously - one way is to open it up to another 'motorhome club' - we would need a minimum of 30 motorhomes at £25 per night (x 2) to make it work. We currently have 19 so would need 11 more, which might be achievable - i dont really know any other 'club members' etc, so anyone with any suggestions, please forward them.

2 - reduce the rally to a one night event - arrive after 1300 on day one and leave before 1300 on day two, with the museum tour in the morning of the second day. I'm not sure how much that would work out at.

3 - increase the cost of attending - my view is that at £25 per night with no real 'facilities' is around the max price (even with the museum tour included)

4 - not having use of the mess hall for an evening get together

happy to consider options either in this public forum or private conversation ..

Thanks

Hi Dave,

While it will be sad, but as it's June now instead of the cold months, we should be able to do without the hall and if needed ordering a takeaway instead of a sit down meal?
Not sure how much this will help but....?

Thanks for all your hard work, much appreciated! 👍

The two nights would be nice, but we would still be up for it if it was one night.
Personally, I think that at the meal in the Mess hall is a must for the ambiance of the place and what it was in past history.
If the follow on to Stow Maries does not go ahead, then we would still go and visit the museum after Thorpe-le-Soken rally as it is a place that we have wanted to visit for some time, especially while being in the area.

Add me to the extra nights Dave no meal.

MisterB Dave, is it maybe worth putting the Stow Maries event on a separate rally thread to give it more visibility? It might flag it to people that can make that event but not the Thorpe one. I'm not sure if you can somehow link the new rally thread to the existing one, so that you still only have one thread to update

youre already included Lee, thanks anyway !
