This site must take some beating

We stayed in September for 10 nights on an Emperor pitch with the day tent. We had not visited this part of the country before so we went in the caravan so we could explore easier. Facilities are top notch, nice staff very down to earth and welcoming. There is a couple of pubs within our walking distance, guess it depends on how far your prepared to walk for a beer. Some good bike routes also, worth the experience

Keep paying these high prices and they will keep charging them. If you like paying loads for what are not especially wonderful facilities, stayed on very well equipped sites in Austria for less than £20 a night with Acsi, thats up to you. Personally we find it much cheaper to use the tunnel and find somewhere we like without having to give exact dates and pay in advance, with well behaved children and dogs.

Looks quite different to me with all the statics but if you have been to both I will take your word for it.

I've been to neither! I know the Holgates site well though. We used to hold a rally at the Leeds Childrens Holiday Home which is directly opposite & we regularly used Holgates Restaurant. The site was also an interesting place to walk the dogs. It has most if not all of the facilities mentioned by the OP and is in a fabulous area. The site increases in height ASL from the entrance and looks out over Morecambe Bay.

It should be remembered that high prices are not always a reflection of the location nor of the services provided but rather as a means of homing in on a certain ’demographic’.

The fact that many boycott such establishments would suggest that such strategies are effective!

Now let me see the price of a Concorde motorhome is....and the site is about £10 ish more a night?

Now let me see, if you buy a new or nearly new, or even a remotely new Concorde then you are maybe correct

Concorde have been making vans for a lot of years.

Great site - price is justified by the impeccable facilities. Can take big Motorhomes. Really good (not cheap) gastropub a dog walk away - The Richmond Arms
